Its not that we care what y'all think, its just that niggas like me wish some of the rappers up north would concentrate on making music instead of trying to critique everyone else's. I do not wish to see the eastcoast fall, in fact in hurts my soul that my future son may not have an eastcoast artist like Nas to listen to. I appreciate the eastcoast, NY especially because my first taste of hip-hop came from that area. Yea they've been hating on other regions for awhile, but they always had good music to back it up with. Not so much these days. Case in point Lil Kim can critique Nikki all day but she will not release any music to compete to show why she is the superior artist. 50 will make claims that he can end someone's career but when challenged from a musical standpoint all he does is make Pimpin Curly videos. My point is that the hate coming from the eastcoast is more recognizable than ever before because there is no music being produced with it. The eastcoast is stuck in the past. Past accomplishments are fine but when that's all you have to offer the game then you either need to move aside or pass the teachings on to the next generation. Why should anyone care what the eastcoast says about hip-hop when they themselves are damn near the worst at making it these days? And its not just other regions, to be honest the eastcoast hates itself. Y'all don't get along with eachother so why would it be surprising that y'all don't like anyone else? Another stunning fact is that even the more lyrical rappers are no longer coming from the eastcoast. So what exactly is it that the eastcoast (NY especially) offers to the game today beside criticism and history lessons from has beens?
