WHY ARE BLACK SHOWS SOOOO TERRIBLE?

Everybody Hates Chris was the last black sitcom i enjoyed...the writing, acting, production value>>>

Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl is a dope Web series will a show like it make to TV prob not. Most TV executives make the assumption most people only want to see black people portrayed in a certain light and if they deviate from that it would flop

i heard issa rae is in talks with shonda rhimes to do a show. idk if it'll be awkward black girl or something else, but i hope whatever it is it doesn't get watered down.

They didn't used to be. We had a Different World, The Cosby Show, Sister Sister, and Martin. They were great. Don't know what the fuck happened.

The white man stole all your good ideas.

smh BET sucked the mitochondria outa the game

TV in gerneral sucks for that matter, I would throw a lifeline to the higher cable channels but they suck too. Here I come "Darkside of YOU TUBE", entertain me damn it.

Good writing is missing that's what.

This is one of the biggest problems with a majority of black shows.

"The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer was a sitcom that took place during the Civil War, and that's actually pretty cool. We're all for using a novel setting to explore complex social norms. The story revolved around a black servant named Desmond Pfeiffer who was kidnapped from England, forced into slavery and freed from slavery, and then accidentally ended up working for Abraham Lincoln."

Cause black folk don't encourage creativity in their lives, or else they get blackballed from their social scene. These shows reflect that. Imagine if niggas actually made "Entourage" will with different kind of successful black folk? Or a show that has good sci-fi in it?

Blame the fact that black actors want to be tokens for popular (white) shows than to make their own. Was especially evident post-2000 when superhero movies got big.

When will there be a black version of game of thrones, boardwalk empire, spartacus or even that pope show. There are too many sucky shows. We need to diversify.

Yeah, Everybody Hates Chris was the shit. The Bernie Mac show was equally good. The Boondocks seems to be doin alright. My Wife and Kids has its moments; it got better in the later seasons imo. The Chappelle's Show would have been even more epic if he had continued.

there aren't even that many black shows on tv. ever since upn and wb disappeared we don't see them as much anymore unless bet is airing it. the game while not as good as when it was on wb is still decent, lets stay together is decent, and that next generations wayans show (so far) is decent.

first of all,You nyggas are so quick to hate...

secondly I can name a few good black shows that were good in the recent past.

• Chapelle Show

• Everybody Hates Chris

• My Wife and Kids

• BoonDocks

Lastly.. I agree the writing needs work..and they need to be willing to take risk. A show like Portlandia is hilarious as f*ck! because its unique with good writers.
