Mainstream fans.

The fans of the underground have good intentions, actually care enough about music to search for it, and acknowledge that there's better stuff out there than what the media tries to force on us. In terms of music, they are better fans, and more helpful, because they don't just ride the wave of what's hot at the time, but both can be annoying, and hard-headed.

yeah but a wayne fan won't call you dumb for fuckin with underground emcees, tell an immortal technique fan that you like 50 and see what happens.

both...they both will desert an artist they claim to have loved for the dumbest of reasons...for underground fans it's usually "Oh they sold out because they want to make money for their music"...for mainstream it's just whoever replaces the current trendy artist

True, but just cause somebody's an Immortal Technique fan doesn't mean they're underground fans. The only two I.T. fans I know are both fans of mainstream artists like Drake and J. Cole. And an mainstream fan often won't even pay attention to something you try to show them, just because the name isn't 'hot' right now.

kinda like if i told an underground fan check out this new ross, they'd be like "hell no, he's a mainstream bitch".

Exactly, they're just as close-minded as each other.

Valid question In my opinion. Isn't this the same nigga who made "Dumb it Down"?

yeah but still, pseudo backbackers get annoying. like when wayne was on distant relatives(and dropped a decent verse), all the nas fans hated it.

Underground by far. The act like they own the artist and they box there artist in to making music only for them.

mainstream

because they are not really fans they are bandwagon jumpers.. they wait to see whats popular, hot and acceptable and then dick ride on it!

underground fans are the best because they swear by there favs even when its not popular!! thats dedication! i first start listening to the ROOTS when i heard ORGANIX early 90's i was rocking all there albums and then the BANDWAGON came in 1999 when they finally got a BIG HIT with U GOT ME featuring EVE and Eryakh Badu.

and all these people were syaing how much they loved the ROOTS and theyve ALWAYS liked them and then id ask them about the catalog and they couldnt name anything but You Got Me. fake ass fans!! thats what drives underground fans crazy the bandwagon!

I'd say they're as bad as each other tbh because there's generalisations for them both. You will get underground heads who give mainstream a chance and you get mainstream who are open to listening to underground shit. I guess based on the generalisations you 'd have to go towards underground heads because there are some I know who just try and shit on anything by someone who's a big name but not all are like that; it's the same that not all mainstream fans dislike underground stuff because it's not big or whatever.

I think both have their Pro's and Con's. But it just relies on the individual's opinions.

Majority you meet from both are equally as passionate towards hip hop though.

I have an apple laptop...which is pretty mainstream. But i have underground stickers on it...so it evens out. I'm a fan of both.

seen how mainstream music is a bunch of bubble gum (gucci mane) wanna be gangsta (rick ross, 50 cent) retarded rap (lil wayne, lil b) and how underground at least requires to have some talent to be noticed, i'd say mainstream.
