Dating is a fairly new concept. Humans have formed and maintained relationships for thousands of years before the "tradition" of dating.

Moreover, dating in particular and chivalry in general are anti feminist. Paying for dates was tradition formed from the idea that women are the weaker sex. It shows that women need to be taken care of.

Finally, dating is similar to prostitution in the sense that you are paying for the woman's time. If she really wants to be with you because she enjoys your company then what the fuck are you paying for? Relationships are a team sport, go Dutch.
