popstar with the wackass catalog wasn't 3000. 3000 was the dude with no real solo career. Andre3K is dope, but all his hot shit was when he was in Outkast, therefore he can't be a legitimate GOAT candidate in my mind.
-All of The Roots albums are basically Black Thought rhyming over The Roots production. I consider those to be solo albums. We usually don't consider the production elements as partners because then almost no one would have solo albums.
-I agree Jadakiss is dope, but because he has a wackass catalog, he doesn't touch my top 10.
-Common's career is actually one of the best there are. From catalog to lyrics to longevity, few are touching him.
-There's only a few of those guys on your list that have skills, battle-skills, longevity, and great catalog. Does Joe Budden have longevity? Uh.. no. How about great catalog aka classics? Nope. Em have a great catalog? Uh Nope. Big Pun have longevity? Nope. Catalog? Nope. Methodman has a catalog? Nope. Andre3000 has solo catalog? Nope ... and we can go on and on.
Basically, it just seems like your list is based on who's nice and who's not IN YOUR MIND. It is what it is. I just think if you don't have a common theme to your list, then it's a bullshit biased list in which it makes no sense to argue about it because we all have different perspectives. Once again it's like ranking basketball players. What do most use to rank greats? Rings, accomplishments, and skills. Hip-hop should be the same way (at least for the top 5 GOATs). We should judge it on things like classics, longevity, and skills.
