These are the GOATS...I don't have just one I have 10

Nas

Pac

Eminem

3000

Redman

Common

Black Thought

Method Man

Joe Budden

Big Pun

Your list makes no sense. You have mixtape rappers on there who have had lackluster careers. You have people who died before we saw what they were made of. You have rappers in there who have had no solo albums. You have pop stars with wackass catalogs. Then you have rappers who are the best of the best in everybody's mind. There's no common theme to your list which is why it doesn't make sense to discuss shit like this because dudes just pick who they think is nice which is as biased as you can be.

That's like having a basketball top 10 of people like MJ and Kobe (everyone agrees with these 2), and then throwing in Mitch Ritchmond and Stephon Marbury because you personally think they're good even though they don't have the accolades to be put up there.

The only people I agree with in your list is Nas, Black Thought, Common. All who have longevity (15+), great catalogs (2+ real classics), and skills (battle-tested, lyrically elite). Everyone else on that list falls short in one of those categories.

First off you comparing music to basketball is great for me, but bad for you, why?? Karl Malone, Stockton, Wilkins are some of the greatest ball players ever...do they have a ring? No...Bron Bron is a great ball player and has he been in the league that long? No...Rappers doesn't have to make a classic album to be great...and if you're talking about 3000 when you're saying "You have pop stars with wackass catalogs" then you're fucking stupid you're favorite rapper , favorite rapper is 3000.. Outkast has made classics, and solo or not you can't knock 3000 lyrical skills and Black Thought doesn't have a solo album...why do you agree with me on that? Pac died before his time, yes but the nigga made 6 albums, and they were some thought provoking shit...your argument is bullshit, IMO Jadakiss has never made a classic album but he's one of the best to ever do it...pound for pound you can't name me 10 rappers who can go lyrics for lyrics with Eminem...if you don't like the white boy that's on you...my shit is based off what I listen to, not what everyone else listen to, and not too many niggas would put Redman on their list or Meth, Big pun might've made one album but the shit was classic, it's fucked up he died, Common Career isn't all that great, his shit isn't multi-platinum albums status, but the nigga is nice...Joe Budden is dope to I don't give a fuck what anyone says period...you might have Wayne in your shit but lol that's what you listen to... every rapper on my list fits all or a few of these: skills (battle-tested, lyrically elite), longevity (15+), great catalogs (2+ real classics)...so what's the fussing for? LOL

-Yes, Karl Malone, Stockton, and Wilkins are great basketball players, BUT they're not in most people's top 10, and what were you listing? *drum-roll* Your TOP 10 aka your potential GOAT candidates.

-The popstar with the wackass catalog wasn't 3000. 3000 was the dude with no real solo career. Andre3K is dope, but all his hot shit was when he was in Outkast, therefore he can't be a legitimate GOAT candidate in my mind.

-All of The Roots albums are basically Black Thought rhyming over The Roots production. I consider those to be solo albums. We usually don't consider the production elements as partners because then almost no one would have solo albums.

-I agree Jadakiss is dope, but because he has a wackass catalog, he doesn't touch my top 10.

-Common's career is actually one of the best there are. From catalog to lyrics to longevity, few are touching him.

-There's only a few of those guys on your list that have skills, battle-skills, longevity, and great catalog. Does Joe Budden have longevity? Uh.. no. How about great catalog aka classics? Nope. Em have a great catalog? Uh Nope. Big Pun have longevity? Nope. Catalog? Nope. Methodman has a catalog? Nope. Andre3000 has solo catalog? Nope ... and we can go on and on.

Basically, it just seems like your list is based on who's nice and who's not IN YOUR MIND. It is what it is. I just think if you don't have a common theme to your list, then it's a bullshit biased list in which it makes no sense to argue about it because we all have different perspectives. Once again it's like ranking basketball players. What do most use to rank greats? Rings, accomplishments, and skills. Hip-hop should be the same way (at least for the top 5 GOATs). We should judge it on things like classics, longevity, and skills.

Why can't Joe Budden be in consideration for the GOAT position?

1 Mediocre Album And A Slew Of Solid Mixtapes Does Not Qualify For Contention Of The GOAT

1 mediocre album? Padded Room, Self titled album, Halfway House, Escape Route plus most of his mixtapes are all original music, so they should count as albums. Joey should be considered at least top 10 DOA

Even if Black Thought rap on the album and no one else that still doesn't make him a solo artist...The Roots, not Black Thought..A rapper doesn't have to be a solo artist to be apart of a top 5 list..So basically if it's not in "Most People" top list they shouldn't be listed? Fuck that. Budden has been in the game for at least 10 years, what just because his albums didn'tt do well he's not or shouldn't even be mentioned when it comes down to top 10? Just because you don't think Pun shouldn't be on the list because he died after one album? Biggie died after one album (fail to put him on my list), he just so happen to complete a 2nd album before he died, lol do you think he shouldn't make the list? When I did this list I went off lyrical content, albums (not sales), I really don't go off longevity reason why, because there are a lot of rappers who have been doing this shit for a very long time, that can't fuck with dudes who've been doing for 5 or 6 years..example Lupe Fiasco IMO 2 classics out the gate, what is he missing, Longevity? Do he need to battle a few niggas? point I'm trying to make...everybody has their own opinion...pound for pound not too many rap cats fucking with Eminem. Nas is the purest Emcee we'll probably ever see in our lifetime. 3000 needs no solo albums to be apart of greats, Pun's great fuck longevity..niggas should be lucky Pac, Biggie, and Pun are dead..Don't care what a nigga say about Reggie Noble, and Tical...both them niggas made classic shit..even if you think so or not, Budden is ill, regardless of what a nigga might think, his content on albums are provocative..I can't think the way you think...who you consider great might not be great to me...if a nigga make 2 albums and die and they both are considered classics, and his lyrical content is on point, how can he not be great? Because he died in 3 years and to this day people still say 90% of the niggas can't touch his shit..That's fucking great..

I Forgot About The Padded Room And Them Other Shits...So Did Everybody Else....Buddens Hasn't Done Anything Mind-Blowing Or Ground Breaking...Hes A Black Eminem With Only A Portion Of Skills...Emo Rappers Get Old With Their Subject Matter Quick...The Only People Still Talking About Dude Are His Internet Solidersss...Not Saying Hes Wack Never That But Definitely Not Contention To Be GOAT...Thats For Rappers With Classic Albums Not Never Was Dudes From Jersey (See Canibus, Keith Murray)
