lmao canibus

gooood one.

Why not?

He never compromised his work, and he hasn't really gotten shit in return from the hip-hop community.

to each his own but nah. I just don't think hes that great hes got lyrics but he lacks everything else.

like flow, emotion, his beats are awful, and hes a bore after a while

Not the most lyrical political artist, but one who says what they want to say about what they want in a strong way that gets the message accross. One who speaks for the people in the way they can understand it.

This was the quote/question.

Judging by the interview Bis gave on Conspiracy radio, how does he not fit this criteria?

Really though? Nobody gonna mention Lupe? "C'mon Son." Kanye: maybe on his first and second albums.

I can't even say that that recent album was tight production wise, but Lupe been bringing depth with the lyricism since day 1.
"Ghetto Story aka Steady Mobbin"

And I'm still on
As I stroll down the same street so many like me once before, were killed on
Steady mobbin', thinkin' bout the Black Panthers
And the babies that were born in the late '80s
That now have babies that lack Pampers
No Kwaanzas and they lack Santas
And the father who thinks shoe-shopping is the answer
Skipped out on parenthood classes so she don't know how to handle her
And never learned from her grandmother
One day got hot, couldn't take it, dropped her in a vacant lot
Album of Life, now condensed into a sampler
See the shapes these little girls is gettin'?
Somethin' say the steroids in the chicken is the cause of the thickening in the young women
Livid, see some shorties playin' Cops & Robbers, livin'
Bittersweet thoughts is what I had for them
I can picture colder feelin' Police chasin' after them
Catchin' up to, friskin' and askin' them
Where the packs at? Who yo' cheif is? Where the straps at?
Am I thinking too hard? Or perhaps that's reality
In a project mentality, but through it all
I hope we learn more than how to be whores and how to move a ball
Steady mobbin'

[Chorus]
I've got some questions to ask, and I'm waitin' on some answers
Like, Why do the good die young? Why ain't there no cure for cancer?
Won't let the streets dicatate my glory
Cuz it's something out there for me
But I'ma flee my territory
So I won't end up, just a ghetto story
Just a ghetto story, just a ghetto story
Just a ghetto story, just a ghetto story

No im not, i didnt say that nigga is GOAT, all im saying is the dude put out a RAP hit but he didnt get no play from anybody. Currency aint gettin play like B.o.B. is either. Obviously the dude was looking for mainstream attention, he is signed to Atlantic. Currency is boring as fuck btw and cant get to the mainstream for that fact.

Lol @ posters mentioning random ass rappers that make deep songs as the Pac/cube of this generation. In order to be that you need to have the charisma, energy, popularity and be a household name. How you gonna be a voice of a generation when only a small group of people listen to you like that?

Technically since there are different mediums being used to access music today (internet, radio, television) nobody will be able to have the same impact as Tupac, Cube, or Chuck D.
