Yo I'm just laughing at the fact that Meek being the third best rapper in MMG means he's got a chance at a classic. Son said third best rapper in MMG like its a good accomplishment. So what does that mean? Meek is letting Ross and either Wale or Stalley or whatever dudes name is out rap him? and that's the dude y'all out your money on to craft a classic? haha. damn the game changed.

Kendrick by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Meek hasn't shown me he can be a good artist and song writer period, all his songs sound like alike, him screaming on a record. Kendrick is much of an artist and songwriter, he knows how to execute concepts and make records. To me in order to make a classic album, you have to be able to make records beyond singles.

first of all kendrick is a conscious mc who talks about several topics

meek is a street nigga

so the comparison can't be all accurate

The West Coast of course.

I been saying this since K.Dot first came on the scene....movie in the making. K.O.W

Gay ass Dre gonna come through right on time like that comet come around about every decade

N.W.A "Straight out of Compton" (1988) = Classic

Dr Dre "The Chronic" (1992) = Classic

Snoop Doggy Dogg "DoggyStyle" (1993) = Classic

50-Cent "Get Rich and Die Trying" (2003) = Classic

Kendrick Lamar = "good kid m.a.a.d city" (2012) = Classic

Meek bringing the streets back but Kendrick bringing another Classic home to the West Side.

The question was which one is more likely to drop a classic? A classic is a classic, doesn't matter if it's GRODT or Black on Both Sides. If there was ever a nigga that needed the label street/conscious it's kendrick. Yall put this label on him like he's mos def or some shit... these songs are not "conscious":

Kendrick already got three classics. They just were not full retail albums and the attention was not in his direction. I have no expectations for either, I will just accept the music for what it is instead of setting myself up for disappointment.

I feel Meek will drop a classic if he continues to do what he does best (street bangers for the club and storytelling) over fire production; but Kendricks album will more than likely be a game changer for Hip Hop the concepts he brings mixed with a killer flow and crazy bars, all he needs is the right beats though

the word classic has lost all its luster. any quality album gets labeled classic

with that being said, neither will drop a "classic". i believe both meek and kendrick will drop quality albums with lamar's being better

Believe me, i understand when people say "the word classic has lost its luster".

I just feel that saying that all the time keeps people trapped in a mindset that one will never be released again.

IMO, the Rap game is WIIDE open for one in 2012.

If there's anybody that can do it, it has to be Kendrick Lamar.

He already has more momentum then Kanye did when he released College Dropout.

A classic album imo is a album that is so good you don't gotta skip a track and i don't see neither doin that, but kendricks albums will be better than Meeks

Kendrick..but ya'll putting too much on these artists by labeling their forthcoming debuts "classic" too early when (1) they haven't been released and (2) had no time to absorb into the consciousness of the Hip Hop culture.

But hey, to each it's own.

I'd say Kendrick, Meek's subject matter is small and skill wise Kendrick has more to offer. Also someone said Meek is in the hottest crew in the game... That doesn't equal a classic ask Tony Yayo.
