I never owned a drop top but yes I was ridin around bumpin TES from the day it was released. I was 20 yrs old and yes I will still blast his music today thru my 12" woofers with no fucks given and will turn around and bump every Nas album. Who does that? Me

With all due respect, I can't imagine a scenario where I'm chillin with my homies blasting Eminem. I always thought his music was corny in the first place. That has nothing to do with his skills on the mic, I'm talking about his overall music (beats, choruses, hooks, themes, etc.). So I thought his music was corny when it first came out, but now, 15 years later it has absolutely no replay value.

In all seriousness, if I pulled up to a stoplight and saw somebody pull up next to me bumping Lose Yourself on full blast with the windows down I'd probably burst out laughing.

The only thing hotter than a Nas album in 02 was a DJ Kay Slay mixtape.

In fact, I had the Kay Slay tape with Ether on it. It was light brown and Ether was track 2. It had an advertisement for the mixtape awards on the cover. I wish I could find that CD. I wish I could find all my old Kay Slay CDs.

I did a google search to find some old Kay Slay mix tapes from 2002. I couldn't find any but I did find a thread on thecoli message board. The title of the thread was; From 2000-2003, Kay Slay Had The Mixtape Crown

I wish there was a way to bring you guys back in time to my life in 02/03. I was going back and forth between Massachusetts and New Jersey. I'd stop at 125th st and cop some mix tapes (2-for-$5) I'd usually cop the newest Kay Slay mix tapes. I swear to God he was getting exclusives before anybody. He had the new G Unit, Jay Z, Nas, D-Block, Dipset, I can remember when he had the tape with the Runnin Remix by 2Pac and Biggie, Ghostface hosted that tape.

He had a whole series of mix tapes called The Drama Hour, not to be confused with his radio show on Hot 97. There were about 10 of them and they came out between August-October-03.

Kay Slay was dropping a mixtape every week in that time frame and every tape had exclusives from the hottest rappers. And he was getting stuff before the internet. And you could tell because when it would finally appear on the internet Kay Slay would be screaming over the song.

Neither was that hot in the DMV. Nelly dominated 2002 more than Nas.
