I know Jeezy really used the mixtape game. I am looking for artist that went from mixtapes to household names.

We got

Jeezy

Who else went from a mixtape to a household name?

How is Drake even considered the nigga got 1 good mixtape and this is coming from a fan of dude.

He went from a mixtape artist to a household name. What else helped him build his buzz and get signed other than mixtapes?

If the criteria is Blowing up Drake is up there but, when I think of Mixtapes I think of the grind, based on success easily.

Wayne - not a fan, but his best work has been his mixtapes

J. Cole

Wiz - see Wayne & Ross

Honorable mention: Juicy J & Jadakiss: If there is any such thing as a classic mixtape, Rubbaband Business 1 and 2 and Blue Dream & Lean are close to the top (NO BULLSHIT)
