Which Religions Interest You the Most?

Isms and schisms. Rastafarians object to labelling their movement as a religion or as an ism - it's an overstanding.

I know very little about these three, but I hope to remedy that over the next year.

I agree...too much classifying and categorizing (which is also talked about negatively in Taoism and Buddhism). I think you would be able to appreciate a lot of what they have to offer from reading many of your previous posts.

Buddhism and I don't know if it could be considered a religion, but Ancient Alien Theory.

I also have a lot of interest in Scientology outside of the spooky come on now son stuff. IMO, outside of Buddhism, Scientology is one of the best at promoting self awareness, self control, and self discipline, and you yourself being the ruler of your own destiny.

Taoist texts can be a bit confusing and paradoxical to beginning readers, so it's always good to chose a translation with a good introduction. Another thing, Taoists (and buddhists) have a great sense of humor that sometimes gets lost in the text, if you are not aware of it.

ironically, 2012 apparently spent some time today writing me angry/condescending PMs, so that made me feel pretty good about myself

seriously, though, what the fuck, Scientology is terrible criminal garbage. anything of value accidentally located in their books/teachings/schemes to commit crimes against the US government and murder their members/etc is probably lifted from some other religion, so just read that stuff instead.
