All you gotta do is listen to 1 song over and over everything sounds the same, and thats what the fuck I call replay value.

Yo I just went back to Reasonable Doubt and fell in love

Is Illmatic considered a better album than this? This shit is amazing

Reasonable Doubt gets better with time. I dont even know how that is possible. Fuck, the beat for Politic as Usual just popped in my head.

I feel like u wanna de-rail this thread... but im not made at that lol

RD & Illmatoc both in my top 5 rap albums alltime list.

Illmatic #1 tho for sure tho. Illmatic is just raw uncut hip hop at is best. I mean Nas wrote & recorded NY State of Mind on his 1st take in the booth

Reasonable Doubt is some polished playa-gangsta shit. Felt like it was almost equally as great but perfected by producers for the masses.

Both stand the test of time but at the end of the day rap is supossed to be gritty & real and thats what Illmatic was for me.

I was going to make it thread but I feel like it's probably been done before

Agreed on the descriptions though. The way Nas is rhyming on Illmatic is amazing, I instantly understood the Nas is GOAT crowd when I went back to Illmatic. But the best songs on RD are better imo and Jay ain't slouching at all on this joint. That nigga was talking that shit, you could hear it even then that this nigga was just different

I totally get both sides though.

inb4 niggas mix up best with replay value

How could something be the best without replay value?

No I mean in the sense that a certain era could be better but could sound more dated today in comparison to another which would decrease the replay ability
