I understand that you and your immediate circle aren't familiar with Madlib, and that he's not all over the radio and MTV, but to say that he "aint shit off the net" isn't true in any way shape or form. In the world of hip hop, jazz, and music in general, Madlib is an underground legend. He's akin to DangerMouse in that respect. Also, he doesn't do many interviews and unlike most artists with connects in the industry he isn't dying to sell out. Anyway, check out "Madvillainy" and "Shades of Blue."

Freddie Gibbs was on Interscope before Jimmy Iovine dropped him, he seems like a decent fellow but it's difficult for a 30 yr old rapper to get a buzz in the game and at this stage of his carrer he hasn't even dropped a debut.

In comparison Curen$y is the same age and on his 9th studio album and he's his own boss repping his own movement (Jet Life).

CTE do a terrible job of promoting/marketing their artists which is evident if you look at Jeezy's non presence on the charts and social media platforms, but maybe he can generate some buzz with an appearance on Tm103.

In HipHop people like to run your resume and Freddie Gibbs went to an all-white college, served in the military, and grew up in a two-parent household were his father was a highly decorated Sherriff......therefore Freddie has to play "extra-hard" to make up for his soft background.

If you city isn't really behind you it's very difficult to get a buzz, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifah, Stalley, Wacka all have heavy followings in their backyard and coincidently have more buzz than Gibbs who tried to make it out here on the West before he ran down south with Jeezy.

Very few rap-artists can parlay their music careers into being successful CEO's, JayZ has done a nice job, but I think ego gets in the way a lot of times.
