When people say Durant is gonna be the best player in 3 years, are they stupid?

idk if he'll be better than bron in 3 yrs. cuz that's all opinion...but niggas forgettin that D-Wade will be 33 in 3 yrs so i would think Durant would be past him beacuse age and injury history don't add up good.

No he won't be 33. Unless our years are extended by 365 more days.

In my opinion the best argument for the FUTURE will be basing it off increased stats...it is obvious stats help an argument in any comparison of players but if said events have already occurred you can base it off many more things. I can easily bring up a plethora of factors that can "possibly" happen since there is no way to say that it won't happen (especially with the Telfair reference) but in MY opinion, the stats way would be the best way to go, he will continue to improve while Lebron and Wade will not really need to...

Right so basically you think Durant will be better because he will continue to bust his ass where as Lebron and Wade won't because they can fall back on each other and Bosh and take nights off. Understandable.

Smh......there's actually people out there who think Durant is better than Wade now......ppl need to reevaluate their bball knowledge....and even if Durant actually becomes the best player in 3 years it ain't like he gonna have real competition for that title based off the talent we have today unless Wade takes the mean back seat and let's LeBron go off

Pretty much...but in the end I think it is obvious Lebron/Wade will fair better in the playoffs and probably have a shit ton more rings.

But then again you could make the argument that this could actually extend Lebron and Wade's career because now that they "don't have to work as hard" Durant might actually burn himself out...or he'll just demand to be traded and take his talents to _________

Lebrons assist, boards, steals, blocks will go up a good bit. He will get to roam on D alot more and IMO he will be the PG for that team and won't have to score.

Wade's points will go up as will defensive stats.

I actually think Lebron will develop that post game down there. IMO the one who suffers the most is Bosh because he goes from number one option to the third option.

Durant will be fine, Westbrook is likely to become a 20-10 guy, Jeff Greene would be better off moving to the three once they get some better bigs. They have a good team.

Carmelo
Lebron
Chris Paul
Wade
Maybe Kobe if he stays healthy
Dwight Howard

There are alot of guys that can compete with Durant in overall. Outside of Melo no one will come close to scoring with him in 3 years, but overall there are still alot of young guys who will be hitting their prime.

Dwights a lost cause @ this point imo....Chris Paul is great but rarely do PGs get the "best in the NBA" title....Wade amd LeBron would still be better had they not teamed up tho that shouldn't matter, but their production might dip in certain areas because they won't have to work as hard while sharing playmaking duties....Kobe will still be nice but his legs won't be near the same

Melo lacks maturity imo....he's an asset to any team and a great scorer but Durant seems more mature and that's a prerequisite to being a true leader....Melo doesn't strike me as a leader

Agreed.

And nothing else is guaranteed.. if Kobe is healthy.. and that IF is actually something that can happen based on prior events.. then it wil still be him.. Otherwise it can be anyone from Wade........Durant.. Howard Bron anyone else

Durants game is butter smooth he might night be as dynamic as a Wade or Bron but his consistency is better and his strong shooting makes up for the freakish athleticism

if kobe retires in 3 years, then we'll talk.

but in all honesty, i dont think you'd be wrong if you thought durant could potentially be the best in the nba within the next 3 years

i'd take his jumper over lebron's & wade's anyday...not that that automatically makes him better, but hes not even close to reaching his full potential..

It's not a stretch but its obvious you made this thread because you felt some type of way about him eventually passing LeBron

I think if Brandon Roy was more aggressive and took on a more leadership role ppl would say he's better than Durant

Give him another 5 years Kd, will be where lebron was last year. It was mostly accepted that Lebron had surpassed Kobe, but there is still debate on who is truly better amongst some. Durant will be either flat and away the best or coming on lebrons heels as the best player in the league. He just needs to bulk up a bit to help with his inside game some, but he's got the skills already.

I'll say this if durant learns how to close out games and stays consistent on a night to night bases with his numbers and stays winning then yes he will pass lebron within the next few years with out a doubt b/c as great as lebron is now he still lacks a few things to his game (but there is still time for him to develop those which I doubt he will) but as far as skill set I think durant is already better than lebron in that aspect

He won't be the best til he learns to stop turning the ball over and develop a solid post game and become a better one on one defender. If he does that then he will surpass Lebron as the best cause Kobe(32) is going to start to fall off in the next couple of yrs. With his height he will be damn near unstoppable with that jumper and he is already a better shooter than Bron or Wade. I say 6yrs provided he suffers no major injury to his knees or legs.
