A lot of cats knew who he was, Illmatic was bumping everywhere. When that shit dropped it was heavily talked about.white715;3682376 said:Nas' buzz was really underground not everyone knew who Nas was but once he dropped it was written he really solidified his place he was imo the best out talent-wise but he didn't have the charisma that other artists did.

I really started to get into Hip Hop with 2pac in the 90's
Snoop was the first that caught my attention though but it was 2pac that was the first Artist i could say yeah i'm moved by his Music i feel what he saying, he talking about real shit
But my fave era always been the late 90's and 2000's the balance is dope
You got dudes like Max B making that fly wavy Music, you got dudes like Eminem and ZRO making that real life Deep Music, you got people that just Rap like Nas who nice with Lyrics, you got people like Rick Ross making that Coke Rap
See the good Artists don't just Rap they will do Hooks, Sing, Harmonize, make records about different topics, make records about different emotions etc and that balance we have is dope so much variety
Aha, there we go. I was 20 when it dropped, cats was bumping the shit out of that album. His rhyme from "Live At the BBQ" had niggas waiting on him to drop, he had a buzz and I was in Cali when that shit dropped too.white715;3682559 said:People heard of Nas but he wasn't a house hold name I don't remember hearing Nas on the radio til "If I ruled the world" but "I was only like 9 when Illmatic dropped but I was listening to rap back then.
What's up homie, just the same ole soup just reheated. And good analogyDaddy_PeaceBuck$;3682586 said:It was like watching a beautiful baby being born and raising it the correct way.
