Keep in mind that some cats from Maryland, Virginia, N.C. will claim East before South

Many from Missouri will claim MidWest before South

And many from Southern Florida will claim East before South as well

Anyone from NC claiming East is an idiot. The culture in NC as Southern as it gets.

The same goes for MD and VA too to be honest. With the exception of the areas around DC and Bmore, both state are more southern oriented than people admit. That said, I've always believed that DC and Bmore are neither East or South, they are like the area where the East and South meet and therefore have characteristics of both.

c/s all of this especially musically...vast majority leans towards southern music and once you get 30 minutes south of DC it's country as shit and they even got different accents

One question what do folks put West VA. Randy Moss sounds more country than anybody i've ever heard

I don't consider Maryland a southern state, Baltimore (and its suburbs) isn't southern and DC suburbs in Maryland aren't southern so whats left?

Dude you literally just repeated what I said, and there is a hell of a lot more in MD than DC and Bmore suburbs. But hell even if you going to talk about those, Hartford County is literally right outside of Bmore and that shit is as country as anything you'll find down South. And when you go out to places like Waldorf, it looks like a typical southern city. Again, I'm not saying t hat MD is a typical southern state, but it's not a typical east coast state either. Like I said, it's pretty much the merging of the two regions.

I wouldnt say that. I was raised in Aberdeen which is Hartford Co. and I dont think its southern at all. Now southern Maryland where my grandparents live is almost as country as places in the south. From the accents to the scenery.

*shrugs* My wife's fam is from Hartford County, and when I took her to the country in SC to meet my Grandmother the first time. The first thing she said is "Wow, this reminds me of Hartford County."
