What Makes "Supreme Clientele" A Classic?

I've always thought Supreme Clientele was what I expected Iron Man to be as his debut. Iron Man was dope but a few tracks just made it a near classic.

What made SC a classic was it was the closest thing to OBCL, a flawless masterpiece. Maybe Liquid Swords

SC had the overall vibe, cohesion, poetic rhymes, no-filler, dope production, dope Wu appearances, abstract/charismatic Ghost, replay value. Great balance of style and substance. Ghost easily has the best catalogue of any rapper- at least 3 classics, about 4 near classics, 1 good album, countless Wu appearances. Then Nas. The Documentary was the last album that had that vibe IMO.

Ghostface's albums really stand the test of time. His old shit still sound fresh. Not to many skips. "Supreme Clientele" is at least a 4.5-5.

The album is a classic because it ended the dominant sound of the time which was the Ruff Ryders/Swizz beats Keyboard beats. Although released in 99, it was one of the most important rap albums of the new millenium. Kanye, Just Blaze and many others came up doing their version of SC/rza beats.

Most of Ghosts albums are classics because of his artistic integrity and the soul of the songs. It's a different type of mood music in a way.

I know i'm one of the few who thinks this but Fishscale>>Supreme Clientele, I cant put it above Ironman but I think its his most complete album, some of his best storytelling tracks, classic production, dope collaboration tracks, even the skits were classic, probably the best skits on any album ever

I clearly don't love Supreme Clientele as much as the next dude but its a good album. I liked Iron Man, Bulletproof Wallets & Big Doe Rehab more but its a fly album.

cappadonna was there

they ran thru all the classics, mostly shit from 93-2001

they did a bunch of wu songs with ghost and cappadonna alternating thru all the verses in the song, even ones not written by them

then he brought out the lox

they did a couple of tracks

then ghost and cappadonna finished it out with a couple more classics

all in all not bad for a free show at prospect park

Of course he can if whoever is listenin to it thinks its classic. A lot of these internet dudes cant stand that some of these rappers Like Gucci, Waka, etc. are popular And stay played in clubs, parties, rides, radio, tv, shows, etc. It dont matter to get their validation cause their validation means nothing in reality. Some people just seem to like to make the internet opposite world to escape reality. Nothin major, I like all kinds of rapper's songs.
