ya'll dont fuckin get it ,it has nothing to do with being scared or in any way relate to the personality of the one who is doing it ...ITS A SPORT ,when you are an MC you have to be able to send subliminal jabs its part of the sport and when its time you should also be able to be full on and direct and say names too!

say what you want but Is That Yo Bitch is a classic diss song ,That shit must cut Nas deep as hell lol because he knew Jay was fuckin his baby moms

and the fact that it was subliminal he was able to be even more disrespectful hahaha ,that shit is a rap chess move, nothing about it is weak if you understand what being an Mc is all about !

eh.

i love the song but i never look at it as a nas diss even when i knew about the whole carmen/jay situation.

jay coulda been talkin about any dudes chick. the shoe just so happen to fit on the nas shit.

i cant speak for nobody else but i've never been confused on the matter....ima always drop a joke here when i see fit tho

but yeah this shit is like a cold cross over with the pull up, as opposed to the drive, get big, and 1

some people like finesse, some like theatrics

the whole point of a question and a poll is to have two sides.....none is right or wrong

Direct>>>>>>>>>

Sublims are cool because it is fun finding them out, but Direct to the point disses are my preference. Let us know why your upset rapper people.

Just caus they didn't say names don't mean it's subliminal. Some disses are just flat out clear who they about nwa didn't say cube name either on real niggaz but it's clear it's about cube

if its clear who they talking to then its not a sub..

I take sub as u say some shit but u leave it open so u can always backtrack if need be..

or jus flat out deny u talking about said person knowin damn well u are..

thats some hoe shit to me..

What was dope about Jay was that he was direct on Takeover and Super ugly but he send subliminals at Nas on a few other songs..

because YOU never looked at it as a Nas diss dont mean shit bruh smh ...it was a Nas diss ,Jay z could not be talking about anyone other than Nas on that song when you see the timing in wich it dropped, thats exactly the time he was fuckin her and Nas knew about it in that time and that whole shit even inspired "Undying Love " ...you gotta learn how to add shit up man can't always wait for people to explain basic shit to you lol

I prefer direct disses bc whoever says it can't take it back or say they was talking to everyone in general..theres no "I got hacked" type shit..i also think when is direct it motivates the dissed person more bc they NAME out there being clowned in front of the mass public, not just hip hop niggas deciphering punchlines n shit

Fact is...it coulda been about anybody, nigga.

This is why I don't like disses that don't say names.

But you can be a fan of it if you like.

About 98 percent of rappers used subliminals. It's not really a big deal and doesn't make you any less than what you are. Rakim did it. BDK, MC Ren, Jigga, Kendrick, Biggie, T.I., The Game, LL Cool J, Bun B, Pastor Troy, Nelly, Rick Ross... e.t.c

A good rapper that studies the craft knows that sublimnals is a tool and part of lyricism for the Art of War.

It's poetry and been going on for centuries.

Shakespeare was rapping and sneak dissing

Langston Hughes

the griots during slavery

Jesus was rapping and sneak dissing with his parables

it's gets deep if you really think about it and obvious that some just don't appreciate art.

this .

its ok to prefer Direct disses , but I sense by the answers that some people dont like subliminals because its too complicated to try to think and figure shit out lol

dude saying "is that your bitch" could be about anybody hahaha Nas knew it was about him and Jay Knew that not alot of people at that time would know , even I didnt know until "Takeover" came out ,and thats the beauty of it .

when I first heard "kick in the door" I knew immediately he was throwing jabs at Nas " as I crush so called willies thugs and Rapper Don's...

but hey I guess not everybody is even inteligent enough to decipher shit

Nobody in here dislikes subliminals because they're "too complicated" or they don't want to think.

I'm not too sure about the undying love part. That just seemed to go with the original version of the I am double album where he committed suicide on undying love the outro of disc 1.....and goes to the afterlife and is reborn on the intro of disc 2 with the unreleased song amongst kings into nastradomus. Of course with the album leak it ruined the "I am.... Nastradomus" storyline

I just sounded like a total nerd with this post but yeah that was my interpretation of it
