All those token "Spanish beat" songs that niggas had on they album from like '97 to '04...

hell yeah, and also the token 'Indian / Middle Eastern Sample' songs that niggas was using as singles

u can thank "big pimpin" for that wave. lol

Fast rapping imo hasn't necessarily aged poorly, but when somebody like a MGK tries to do it I cant really dig it.

and trap rap is to the point where I already heard so and so sold X amount of keys and dropped the top on the lambo or the porsche where I just try to avoid it all together unless the beat gets me hype enough

I hated most of those, especially Hola Hovito...shit is the worst song the Blueprint to me and always has been. Fabolous was guilty of a few of those too and I don't think many folks remember the original version of Puffy and Loon's "I Need A Girl" is over a damn salsa beat damn near

LOL, I swear you niggas have bad opinion when it comes to what's the worst beat on Blueprint.

It's obviously "Jigga That Nigga".

the whole Snap/Dance Era of 05-07 with Soulja Boy, D4L, Dem Franchise Boyz, DJ Unk, V.I.C, etc.

the futuristic videos everybody was on from the late 90s- early 00s. Missy, Busta, JayZ, etc.

Top 10 'token 'Spanish Beat' songs 10. Lil Wayne "Respect Us" (featuring Juvenile) 9.Daddy Yankee ft G-unit Rompe Remix 8. "Piña Colada" by Big Pun and Sheek Louch 7. 'R. Kelly Feat. Jadakiss Fiesta (Remix) 6. R. Kelly F/ Jay-Z - Fiesta (Remix) 5. Jay-Z Hola Hovito 4. Jay-Z That Nigga Jigga 3. The Firm (Ft. Noreaga) – I'm Leaving 2. EVE - What Y'all Want 1. Big Pun Still Not A Player

Funn enough, I hate that damn song too, I just hate Hola Hovito more because I've heard it more...

trendy music always ages bad.

Only great/classic music stands the test of time

The reason why Rae can still drop indie albums now is because he has a history of making classic music

Most of this new shit has no classic quality and artist disappear in a yr or 2 like the whole snap/dance craze and numerous forgotten groups like the dudes who sang The Jerk,Cash Out,franchize Boyz etc etc etc

if you go listen to a classic like 36 Chambers or Illmatic they still have impact today. They're lyrically and musically light yrs beyond the radio rt now

Hip hop has aged well, the problem is a lot of what people think is hiphop is not. Trendy disco rap has not aged well.

All trendy music ages badly, but the early 00s really stand out. Rap songs that sound like R&B, R&B songs that sound like Rap......that glossy, clap snare and guitar driven shit

G-Unit. No nigga is still on that only geek ass critics, bitch niggas, and geek crackas who cant catch up and dont know what niggas like cuz Eminem put him on.

allow me to retort...i definitely agree with u on illmatic and 36...but thats kind of cheating, cuz those albums, in my opinion, belong in the patheon of great albums such as sgt peppers and electric ladyland...what do u feel about some of nas and wu's later material?

Swizz Beatz around 06-07 with shyt like "Bring Em Out" x TI, "Set It Off" x Young Gunz, or "Like Dat" x Memphis Bleek

i really didnt understand how he got so much wave after he was LOONNGGGG out of his prime...

you can't compare rockers to hip hoppers

some shit just gets played out

niggas as a whole are trendy people

we set trends and we end them muhfuckas

That ringtone era of rap for the most part. I tried listening to Dem Franchise Boyz and couldn't make it a minute into Lean Wit Rock It.
