Snoop, Dogg Pound, Coolio, Fugees, Jeru, Gang Starr, Mobb Deep, Keith Murray, Onyx, A Tribe Called Quest, etc.
I could keep naming names. With a few exceptions artists stay hot for a few albums and are replaced by newer up and coming artists that are willing to work for less money.
You named the exceptions ( Jay, Nas, Eminem) but I could name dozens of Mcs that only lasted two or three albums.

The hot new artist comes and goes. It's uncommon for an artist to stay hot over 5+ years.
And Snoop is a cultural icon but correct me if I'm wrong but he hasn't had a hit since Drop It Like Its Hot back in 2005.
