Now the T/S knows how us 40 year olds feel about the groups we grew up on (Grandmaster Flash, Run DMC, Whodini, Public Enemy, etc.) They were hot when I was in high school but now theres a whole new generation of rappers.

It happens every 5 years or so, the current generation falls off and a new generation comes in.

Cycles move in circles.

Really?

Jay,Nas,Eminem

Snoop, Dogg Pound, Coolio, Fugees, Jeru, Gang Starr, Mobb Deep, Keith Murray, Onyx, A Tribe Called Quest, etc.

I could keep naming names. With a few exceptions artists stay hot for a few albums and are replaced by newer up and coming artists that are willing to work for less money.

You named the exceptions ( Jay, Nas, Eminem) but I could name dozens of Mcs that only lasted two or three albums.

If your point was that up n comin rappers get shine while the ones the decade before can fall back then yeah, course.Looked like you were sayin its inevitable

Oh and snoops still mad relevant

All I remember is a triple LP from the LOX was supposed to come out called "Live, Suffer, Celebrate" about 2006 or so.

That's the last I heard from them group-wise until that J-Hood niglet started dissin them on wax and played himself.

The hot new artist comes and goes. It's uncommon for an artist to stay hot over 5+ years.

And Snoop is a cultural icon but correct me if I'm wrong but he hasn't had a hit since Drop It Like Its Hot back in 2005.

It seems like once he started dissing them that's when they quit doing stuff. That and they milked the 50 beef to death. They should have dropped a studio album together after the puff argument on hot 97. It's disappointing for someone who once called themselves a hardcore fan of these guys to realize they are plain lazy as hell.
