1st off welcome back brother!!!

Back on topic fam I do not personally believe the East West was started by Pac or Biggie it was happening and brewing before their conflict. That said they came to epitomize the Beef and became the public faces of the conflict, but anyone who paid attention knew that the East West battle ultimately was about Corporate versus Independent or to be more exact Old Labels and their sub divisions versus privately owned HipHop labels but again that is a topic for another thread...

thanx fam.....& I c wat ya sayin but I swear if Pac would've lived 2 drop 1nation there would b no east vs west talk 2day......deathrow east was gonna b the nu bad boy n ny once pac was dun destroyin bad boy n 97 thats y Katz like Eric b was standin next 2 Pac n ny n 96

E/W was the worst because it involved Deathrow. Deathrow was an example of gangs infiltrating the record business which was ultimately bad for hip-hop. Sure they made a lot of classic albums but that was due to Dre.

Allegedly, Sam Sneed was sat down and got punched everytime an east coast artist appeared in his video.

nigga dre aint do shyt . daz was the one who was producing the beats over there and dre was taking credit of it .

The game recovered after BIG and Pac (plus Pac was gay and garbage anyway)...Jay, Nas, DMX etc carried the weight BIG left behind and without Pac the west fell the fuck off and we were immediately relieved from hearing they garbage ass funk music, so no complaints there.

With that said, id say the beef that had the biggest effect on the culture had to be 50 vs NY..with the city beefin with each other and everyone on they dolo shit, it left room for the south to unite and take over the game, thus effectively ruining it and making hip hop what it is today....sad.

If the Big/Pac thing didn't happen, we would've never had to endure 50 Cent's shenanigans which broke a part New York's hold on Hip Hop.

we cant say that would be certain.

And New York was already slipping.

Dude was really NYs last hope and they kinda turned on him

With the coming internet age, Hip Hop was going to become more decentralized regardless but if Biggie and Pac don't die, Interscope's top priority would have still been Deathrow, not Aftermath, which means no Eminem and no 50 Cent. And from the regional/cultural aspect, 50 wouldn't have been able to break apart that bond New Yorkers had when that "New York, New York" video dropped.

Have to correct you brother Deathrow had already changed its distribution before Pac died Ironically enough because of your verbiage to Priority and Interscope was all in on aftermath at that point other then that point though carry on...

Deathrow would still have fallen apart regardless.

And you can believe Em was already being looked at even when Pac was alive.

He'd still have his career. Dont know about 50 tho

Ofcourse Big & Pac. But niggaz sleep on LL and Canibus. Canibus lyrically bodied LL and anybody who studies lyrics, punchlines & rhyme skill knows this. But LL used his celebrity to sway public opinion. I remember arguing with a nigga that Canibus won the battle, and all he could say is "but who got more money", "LL got more hits". The media also sided with LL

2nd round Knockout > LL screaming

pac and Biggie did so much damage that people see...but even the shyt people dont think about: it made it so nggas cant even lyrically attack one another without it goin there, or even more prevalent, nggas usin the fake fear of it 'goin there', as a reason not to lyrically go back at a ngga

Nggas pickin 50 vs NY are in fairytale land.

There was no star except Ja that was stifled due to 50. That very well, probably, was gon be the end of NY's run anyway.

Yall rainmaking. In other words, you sayin its gon rain, then when it rain, you think it's because you said it was gon rain lol No. Its a coincidence

NY was gon be over anyway. The south was comin and couldnt be contained, thats what was gon happen. And as Jada put it: "cant tell where he from, jamaican queens, cali, or down south." 50 switched up his style and ate. The beef aint kill nobody's career in NY but Ja

The end of NY, quiet as kept, REALLY had nothin to do w/ 50.

Interesting.

Another way to look at it is that after around 2005/06 there was nothing left for NY rappers to rap about. Every topic, style and theme had been covered. Every production style had been used.

All the bases had been covered.

After around 2005 the well was dry and 50 Cent was left holding the bag, an empty bag at that.

gucci and jeezy coulda made good music together...and rick ross and jeezy

Gucci Mane fucks your song up, e.g. his wack ass verse and lame ass flow on Ross, "M.C. Hammer" The song is hitting is like on a 10, then Gucci's wack ass come and takes the shit down to minus infinity. Nigga is straight garbage. Pretty soon it's gonna be time to make a "Isn't About Time That Niggas Admit Gucci Mane was Straight Trash?" thread.

but the sad truth is that Pac died cause he was trynna prove he was tuff and was a blood... Biggie was collateral damage
