What is humorous about this subject is that people arguing the merits of voting as a means to accomplish a political objective fail to realize that the gaining of the right to vote in itself was accomplished without voting.

Action created the policy. But it was the action that mattered.

I wonder who the Black Panthers asked permission to to feed the children of the community. Did they wait for permits and permission to do what needed to be done, or did they just do it regardless of potential consequences?

What you're suggesting demands actually work and most of all sacrifice. These scared assed negroes aint about that life.

Some one actually said, "vote for the lessor of two evils. SERIOUSLY??? FOH. No way in hell should a man with morals, and integrity every choose evil. WTH?

Yes. And sadly the spirit of selflessness, cowardice and complacency has been with us since we've been in this country.

Anytime people stand up, we've always had those who would go around discouraging the people like "don't do that, you're gonna get us all in trouble and massa aint that bad anyway. Just follow the rules our oppresor gave us and everything will be ok".

That needs to be addressed and dealt with as well.

The bold hurts me to my core. I mean literally can't for the life get how people want to live with a boot on their neck.

My guess would be fear and hopelessness mixed with a little complacency and selfishness.

I think fear is the biggest deterrent to us as a people. Folks is really scared to lose the nothing they have.

Truth be told too many black people are in love with the house nigga status that we have been GIVEN and told to be HAPPY about.

Man that is so true. But the beautiful thing I'm learning about cooperatives and the like are that they focus on "those who will and are willing" and builds with the resources we already have rather than focusing on "those who won't or are unwilling". Remember, during the slave rebellions here in the US, we were going to WAR with shovels, hoes, axes, and whatever TOOLS were available. They didn't fight back with conventional weapons or methods. They used what they had to get the job done. They maximized and mastered the resources around them.

History repeats.

I'm learning that it doesn't take everybody to do something. It just takes a few who are in alignment with the same goals and missions.

And to add to this point, a person who chooses "the lesser of 2 evils" is morally no better than the "evil" they chose

When it comes to politics major events or incidents elections y'all need to keep the movie Prestige in mind.

You have people pretending to be something they aren't casting illusions, performing parlor tricks simply using misdirection. Get you looking over there while they do what they do in front of your face.

Elections are nothing but illusions. The illusion of having a choice of being in on the joke and really you the mark.

Watch this movie called House of Games. Hollywood tell you how these people get down on you. They have no respect for us. They figure we're so stupid we'll just go along. And really they right.

People go along. Vote vote vote. By voting in the process you give your confidence that the system and process work no matter the result. That's how con artists work. They do nothing but get you to give them your CONfidence and then they take you on a ride.

I can respect your position. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. However thats your stance. For instance there are those of us who are having success and like where our lives are going. Everybody doesnt have such a low viewpoint of things. To each their own but to say "you" are this and that, nobody can speak for my viewpoint. Also in voting just like anything else, its pretty much impossible to agree with someone on everything. It just simply doesnt work like that. Sometimes there is the pragmatic choice of who simply would do a better job vs who would do a worse one. Having the disaster come in is something you are willing to do your part to prevent. Just illustrating how your viewpoint isnt everyone's. But I do agree there is the part of not agreeing with everything a candidate does. I dont expect these people to...I just went back to my old job cause i need the money. Thats on me regardless Id just rather the economy not to crash again while Im doing it. I know what a President does for instance hence the measured pragmatic predictable choice. I just expect them to do their job reasonably. Nothing extravagant.

But you see @NoCompetition this is that selfishness and complacency we were just speaking about. The system is benefiting you or you have found a way to maneuver in it to benefit you (I can't knock that), so you're good. But, You're not willing to sacrifice any if it because you're good. But for the vast majority of us Black and Brown people in the US, that same system that is so good to you works against us as a people. The people as a whole suffer because of that same system, but it works for you, so you're good.

And you can't say "That's on me" and then say that you expect the president or whoever is in office locally or nationally to "do a better job". What is their job as a politician if it's all on you?

Huh? I don't really understand what you're getting at or what that has to do with the question I asked you @"a.mann"

Why would we be concerned how others are building their schools or any institutions for that matter if we're out here building our own? Were not replicating theirs, we're building our own.

The question I asked you @"a.mann" was what actions and solutions are you out here applying? We need to be supporting your efforts, am I right? Otherwise, you're not in any kind of position to speak on anyone out here applying solutions and doing something about our conditions in this country.

So again @"a.mann", What actions and solutions are you out here applying that directly address our conditions as Black and Brown people in this country?

Speak on it.

Again,I want to build a school for black children and black young adults.

(I need about 4 mil to do this)

While scholar haters like you sit on the side line hating and instigating.

edit:

I'll add

And i know for a fact you don't question the white man like this or demand to see his plans.

If you want to build a school, I commend you, but I don't know anything about that. We may even cross paths one day...

But you still make no sense to me. Scholar haters like me are out here writing curriculums and working to build schools. How am I anywhere on the sideline, and how am I "instigating" and above all "hating"?

And again, "question the white man like this"? Question the white man like what? What exactly do you mean? Be specific. Why would I be questioning the white man and his plans when we're out here building our own?

Have you been reading the thread? How did you come to this conclusion?

This thread is about what action we can take and what solutions can we can apply that are an alternative to voting.

Except he never provides the source where he heard this and I've personally never heard UJ say anything like that and I've listened to close to 100 hours of his lectures

But crabs will be crabs /shrug

Yeah I thought so at first, but then he responded again like it was him who was out here trying to build schools and applying solutions. I gave dude the benefit of the doubt.

But regardless of whose president, where do we go from here?

Do we continue to go with the flow, or do we take the necessary steps and create our own path and start building?
