Psycho's series

Bates Motel

A prequel is not a remake.

Its reimagined non original it counts

No, it's not a prequel is a prequel. So you're saying Prometheus is a remake of Alien??? The upcoming Better Call Saul is a remake of Breaking Bad???

But the only one I've liked in recent years is Last House on the Left, thought it was pretty good. And I 100% agree about Rob Zombie's Halloween films...thought they were both ass cheeks, and why'd they have to make him 8 feet tall and 400 pounds?

Saying Bates Motel is a prequel to Psycho is like saying Hannibal (the TV show) is a prequel to the movie Red Dragon or that Batman Begins is a prequel to Batman (1989). It's a re imagining of pre-existing source material (Psycho was based on a novel). So by all intents and purposes yes it could be called a remake since it's doing the narrative over for a new era.

That new Evil Dead was cold, but I was mad when Jessica Lucas' fine ass died lol.

They put the icing on the cake by having her piss herself and fuck her face up lol

evil dead

texas chainsaw

dawn of the dead

y'all already listed my favorites that I can think of at the moment

I'm very nervous about that poltergiest remake.

lol yeah, I can understand finding the whole the mutant/hillbilly thing lame... but idk this movie just did it right.

Acting was good, which is rare for this genre. The characters weren't annoying, and behaved somewhat realistically. Also, I like that a good percentage of this movie was filmed in broad daylight, and was still able to capture tension & suspense. The cinematography was awesome, I loved the desert visuals. The movie was gory, brutal, violent, and disturbing...the burning alive scene was haunting, and sad.

I think it exceeds the original in every way possible
