They've been using modern music since episode 1. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden in the 1st, No Surprises by Radiohead in the 2nd, etc. I imagine it's the writers (in the show) way of having some fun.

Now I see what the "incident" was that almost got westworld shut down. Thandie aka T 1,000 and her sky net crew tried to take out human kind. Thandie is in the same time period as William. You never see Hannibal, or any of the people in the westworld building we see in the future.

That host called the Man in black "theodore". I'm guessing that's his middle name or he changed his name. It's clearly William as an old man at this point.

The pic of William's fiance is the same one Dolores' dad found. You can tell the photo her dad found was old, so it's all but confirmed William/Logan are in the past.

I was confused with the MIB showing up at the church. Thought that meant the William/Dolores storyline not in the past, but I guess she just got lost in her flashbacks and said William's name.
