a whole lot of feelings in this thread
bottom line is you are a hypocrite if you are a hip-hop fan but you got a problem with this happening
mofos refuse to accept how MW really works
corporations do not exist to provide jobs or "living wages" to employees
they exist to make money, that's it that's all..........so I don't understand why niggaz get in their feelings over shit like this instead of just playing the game as well
This wasn't well thought out.
How does being a fan of hip hop and not being a fan of corporations make one a hypocrite? Explain the parallels.
have u ever listened to rap music my friend? haha
hell some of u nigga's favorite artists are walking billboards that support these same companies u niggaz like to villify
how can u support one but find an issue with supporting the other? SMH
Rappers are rapping about Wal Mart and Wendy's? I won't argue with you regarding the rampant materialism in rap music, but that's one aspect of the culture and not even a full-part of a whole. Moreover, you're making the supposition anyone who is against Wendy's corporate interests, listens to rappers who espouse the same philosophy as Wendy's and use similar business tactics.
The board doesn't shit on Birdman, Puffy, and Suge for the way they treat their artists?
I'm saying man, you're using a broad-brush to paint that false moral-equivalency.
the board shits on them how? by making negative posts on the IC, then still supporting their artists which ultimately gives them more money?
my dude u naive as fuck if u think Wendy's and Walmart are the only corporations out here willing to put profits over people..........there ain't a popular artist out here that ain't part of a corporation
hip-hop as a genre basically has half of its artists promoting getting money by any means, hell even half the dudes rapping walking around with corporate logos as tattoos on themselves
there is no way u can separate the materialism but still somehow have a beef with corporations who provide the same materials that these rappers floss with......cut the shit fam
but we just gon pretend that everybody in here only supports "conscious" rappers haha
Lol you act like people support them BECAUSE of the corporation backing them...if corporations weren't involved in hip-hop I'm pretty sure there would still be hip-hop fans. And just because an artist doesn't feel the same way I feel about corporations doesn't mean I'm not going to like their music.
It's been 3 threads this past week about capitalism/corporations etc and in every1 you came in like "y'all are caught up in your emotions" and yet there's hella practical points that have been raised that you have refused to address in each 1... now ur drawing these strange unrelated parallels
bruh the bolded doesn't make sense
how do u embrace the product without embracing the source........especially if u know the source is getting ur money that u are voluntary giving them......this is why China is taking manufacturing jobs cause u niggaz cool with purchasing the product without worrying about where it comes from SMH
hip-hop is as corporate as can be and many hip-hop labels embrace the same tactics
artists make music and videos that support the same money over people mentality but yet niggaz only get emotional about wealth inequality when its a CEO
bottom line is u can't be against capitalism in one instance but embrace it in another
and I've already addressed these alleged "practical" points at length, but mofos ain't willing to keep it real and acknowledge that they might be hypocrites
u can't be cool with embracing hustlers but then at the same time have a problem with legitimate businessman
