This whole thread reeks of this company I work for......

The name of my supervisor is even got the same name as one of them robots in that vid too smh. Niggas'll cut you quick for any reason, whatever reason, and even no reason at all just to save a buck. Glad I don't sit behind a computer all day like other Sys Admins, Help Desk techs, or Firewall techs, but I got the trade skill that needs hands on across an entire site and plus sitting behind a screen. I ain't in denial, robots could replace us, but they'll replace other coworkers who sit behind a desk all day first. I ain't sitting in a chair letting a robot fade me up either. Just some things robo's can't do like a regular human being. Becoming a CEO especially in entertainment is looking like something else to hop into. MC Robo ain't gonna have nothing on me lol........

Good. Min-wage jobs were never meant to support people.

Therein lies the problem. The majority of U.S. jobs are within the service industry. Wal-Mart, Yum brands (Taco Bell and KFC), and McDonald's are the top three employers in America. These are all minimum wage jobs, with the average worker being 25 and up. Where will these people go if they are replaced by AI (no Iverson)?

We need to value our main form of industry otherwise the disparity of wealth will just continue to grow. We are at the precipice of another great depression, and it's astonishing to me that people are okay with it because they doing aiight.

Actually, only 4.7% of workers make minimum wage, so 95.3% make above that. The REAL issue is that working class jobs have gone away due to illegals undercutting wages, outsourcing thanks to NAFTA, and horrible policies that cripple small businesses.

The service industry is going bye bye. It's more efficient to use automation at this point. It's like what happened at gas station right before pay at the pump. Entrepreneurship is the future. I'm talking 5-10 person teams working on profitable businesses.

That's Federal and even that number seems low. Let's say they make $10 an hour. In most states in this country, that is still shit money. $400 x 52 is $20,800. For most, that is still below the poverty line, before or after taxes.

Of course it's below poverty line. Min wage is for the lowest skilled work. It used to be where 16-24 years olds built up their resumes. You can't support a family flipping burgers, or saying "paper or plastic". People need to go back to learning trades. Or start up their own business. never thought i'd see the day when people are demanding a living wage working at McD's.

The caveat is that those are the jobs available to the average-American-worker. By and large people demanding a living wage have no choice but to take those jobs. Knowing what is widely known, blaming the worker for that seems counter intuitive.

Even further... that number would be the amount of people that earn minimum wage. 25 cents over minimum wage wouldn not be included in that figure.

Folks forget a crucial detail, we NEED unskilled labor. Some one has to dig these ditches, pave these roads, clean these toilets, farm these fields, and flip these burgers.

You can't just push everybody to get some kind of skill. Or brush it off as some bullshit that doesn't deserve any sustaining. Then who's going to do all the unskilled jobs that make our society function? Obviously the people doing all the finger pointing won't.

Living wage and minimum wage are based off some kind of economic calculations I presume. Well, calculate that shit to where we are now and adjust it as needed. Especially, if the last time it was done was over 20 years ago. Unskilled laborers buy the same gas, eat to survive, and have necessities like everybody else. It doesn't matter how you personally view it. Minimal is the minimal for a reason, so pay them.

Look, THIS Change could be better for the consumer anyway. if robots make the food then there should be less risk of people spitting in the food we could get our fast food quicker cleaner and more efficiently.

you worried about people spitting in your food because your belligerent ass is the type to berate the fast-food workers before you order

I can't stand when I'm with somebody who wanna be rude to the people cooking our food. Then they wanna look at me like "nigga stop acting like a bitch. They not gonna do shit to our food". Niggas and bitches be dumb.

man fuck them and any other business working against my fellow folks

I'm boycotting all these greedy fucks starting today

All the people that do the jobs you mentioned in the first paragraph should make more than a person working in fast food.

IJS

Then give them more. You can pay them minimum $20 and the fast food workers $10-$15. Common sense.

IJS. But there goes those insecurities again. The, "don't no fast food worker deserve what I make," mind state. Ladies & gentleman, pay attention to how many peoples arguments boil down to that petty ass position.

I get what you are saying bruh. I do. But at the same time I support the idea that people should be paid accordingly based on the job that they do. That's my opinion and it has nothing to do with insecurity.

But if we want to pay everyone an appropriate living wage, other changes would need to be made. That sounds like socialism to me. But I could support that idea of it were enforced in a fair manner. But it wouldn't be and the we (the people) would still end up suffering.

We the ppl are already suffering.

Being black in America is already a disadvantage along with having equal opportunity for good jobs.
