The main problem with Joe was that he was one of if not the highest paid player in the NBA but hasn't averaged over 20.0 ppg in two seasons. I'd be lyin' if I said I wasn't gonna watch any Nets games tho... still one of my favorite players.

I went to high school with Joe. He was a senior when I was a freshman in Little Rock. There was a 10-15 page thread made in the C/S about a year ago calling Joe a bum. It was during the Hawks/Bulls playoffs series. I swear it was only me and about 3 other ppl in that thread defending him. I was in there pointing out how he was averaging 20+ PPG and he just recovered from elbow surgery that season. The very next game Joe scored 36 points on Chicago.

Ever since then, that 20+ PPG decreased to around 18 PPG. Joe from the hood, he from the hometown. It's not the fact that everybody hates him. It's the fact that he's one of the highest paid players in the game and he can't even give us 20 fucking points. That shit is sad. He's not a bum and it's not his fault for being overpaid. It's just everyone is shocked and happy that we got rid of that fuckin contract. If we could've have gotten him to take a paycut, I wouldn't even mind him staying. Something like cutting that $120 million dollars in half though because we can pay four bum ass players 75 cents game to replace him and each put up 4 points a game.

I'm happy he's going to the Nets. He shined playing for the Suns when he wasn't the #1 option. Now he can go back to that role like he's supposed to be and still get paid that #1 option money.

Smith had a career year but he forced too many shots. Was 7th in FGA in the entire NBA. If we can give that to Al Horford instead with the PnR and transition baskets you are talking about a 24-26 ppg instead of Smith's 18ppg.

Finally a sign that this site is not the wackest shit going today. Good thread. Been a Hawks fan for years. Must say I am one of the few who is not impressed with Ferry coming in and giving away a 6x all-star for a bag of chips. I get that we needed to get rid of Joe's contract but we hurt our overall talent level by taking back all those bums from New York. The Marvin trade was good to get that extra year off the books but Harris is no better than Teague and he will be 30 in February. The guy was such a letdown that they played Watson a lot of times.

The biggest problem with the Hawks was never Johnson. It has always been we need a real C and move Al up to PF and Josh to SF, but I guess they did not see that possible without trading Joe. I personally hate watching Josh Smith play. He is the dumbest motherfucker I ever saw play the NBA game. Takes more long jumpshots than Dirk and can't shoot a lick. Trade that fucker for a real C and we are in business. Josh Smith and Devin Harris should get you something good since both are expirings.

I think the major point is they need more moves and sitting around praying for Dwight is just lame to me. I will be a fan regardless because I have been living in Metro Atl for over a decade and unlike those freeloading ass New Yorkers, Chicago people, LA people, and Boston dick riders I will not freeload off of my community by never supporting the team of the place I live then going out and cheering for the other team the few times they come to town.
