This is most accurate actually...my cousin was killed by PG Police last August...any time I hear of a cops death I literally feel nothing towards them...nothing about celebrating or screaming "yeah fuck them pigs" comes to mind at all...

If we were debating on whether or not cops should be held to a higher standard in encounters with the public, everything you said would be relevant, and I'd agree with you 100%. However, that's not what we're discussing. People are coming in here celebrating this cop's death because other cops have killed innocent people. That's what I'm saying is stupid. It's wrong for you to hold every cop responsible for every other action just like it's wrong for the cops to hold every black male responsible for the action of every other black male. The corrupt institution is the thing that everybody should be hating, and dancing on the grave of a dead police officer does nothing to combat that corrupt institution.

Let me ask you a question. Do you think the country would be better off without the police? If there were no police to enforce laws, would the country and public safety in this country be better or worse off?

Yes, the institution needs to be cleaned up, we can all agree on that, but killing individual cops and rejoicing in their deaths won't accomplish anything. What we need is a way to weed out the bad seeds and empower the ones who at least try to do the job the right way, but that can't happen if people are out there killing them indiscriminately. That's fair. I mean it would be impossible to every get a crime free police organization. We have to remember that the same pool that provides the world with criminals provides the world with cops.

Still, corrupt or not, we know that criminals do at least acknowledge the police. Even the boldest crimes are done with a measure of wariness because those criminals aren't trying to get caught. If there were no cops, everyday would be like the purge until some group of concerned citizens stood up against the rampant lawlessness, and the cycle would start all over again.
