Tupac < Asheru

Asheru is nice love what that cat does on the mic and his beats always have a vibrate feel to them.

The point being Pac has been dead 14 years, Jay is still alive to promote himself, put out new material, do interviews, and shoot blanks into beyonce punani

BIG popularity has decreased over time, where as Pacs star seems to grow bigger, maybe more to do with music or personality or both....

I don't think Big's popularity has decresed. He just released a movie that did 50 million worldwide. That's a lot of moeny for someone people don't really care about anymore? People are still sampling Biggie's voice and lyrics. The fact that both "Born Again" and "Duets" Sold millions of ablums off recycled verses is a testment. "Hypnotized" was just used for a trailor in a movie. Pac definitely left behind more material but Big legacy has grown over the years.

As for this thread, Bad Boy was going to rule 97 no matter what so Pac would have had to go back to the drawing board has they both lived. Fans would of still brought "Life After Death, No Way Out and Harlem World". Do people think those albums would of flopped?. Competition would of been very strong if Pac and Big for that matter lived. Yes, Jay Z, Eminem, DMX and even NaS careers would of been different. Pac and Big were 24 and 25 at their deaths. They had a lot of years to grow but it didn't happen.

I'm talkin about high school

My point is as children we were indoctrinated by the white man to listen to The Beatles, Elvis, thus we come up believing this to be the standard of music, this is still happening in schools today. So bringing up "My gay cousin listens to the beatles" i expect that as kids are force fed this at school....it's time you did youre duty and introduced your cousin rap music and told him to leave faggot shit alone.

i'm just saying, homeboy

its not rare or uncommon for someone to find out about and actually become a fan of something they weren't alive to witness

i see 15 year olds talking about how great Jordan was and wearing his shoes all the time

Suge singly handedly fuckd up the westcoat rap scene

Pac would not have survived to see the millennium, he was dead man walking whichever way he turned...he played all his cards

Most definitely. Pac was doing waaayyy too much and in 94 it set the stage for his end. I give Pac his Thug application and T.H.U.G. Philosophy credit, but Pac was no Gangster & he should not have been shocked about what happened in NY. Yes the rape charge was a set up, but the robbery had nothing to do with the Government, he was just out of his league and hung around with, associated with, accepted gifts from & rejected the wrong people at the wrong time.

Nevertheless, another real Gangster and friend avenged him in death. So even though he wasn't one, at least he was loved by some. That seems to be part of what he wanted. He will forever be respected by his closest peers, comrades & associates. He was MOB.

"Will yo homies riiiidddee, or will they all get high, and talk about how ya died?"

i think what he means is many rappers have been noted as saying they admire Pacs work ethic as in he lived and breathed in the studio.....

I wouldn't say Bad Boy was going to have 1997, Pac had some shit cooked up with The One Nation Album, Makaveli Records, The Outlawz and They had that Death Row East about to happen. It would have been a split year, Pac's death stopped alot of stuff that was about to happen, we will never know.

from my general point of view the fans tend to support Pac over BIG, i just get that vibe....I watched the BIG movie, which i thought was a big injustice to Bigs legacy and the story was told wrong.

i feel due to pac working harder in the studio and covering more topics he will always be one up on biggy in terms of fanbase...

no i dont believe those albums would have flopped neither, big had heavy support over on the eastcoast and yes competition would have been crazy. i think had pac set up deathrow east and recruited Nas, Rae and other eastcoast rappers (for the one nation project), he would have positioned himself to reunite the west and east and build bridges.

lol and he still unknown?fuck outta here

mary j wasnt exactly mariah carey at that time my friend
biggie was big ... but its not like the song was the lead single
foxy wasnt even known either ... i dont even think her first album dropped yet LOL
nutty professor wasnt one of the top movies that year ... it wasnt even a blockbuster ...furthermore .... a soundtrack to a movie like that doesnt mean shit unless the song itself is a hit.... keith murray redman and erick sermon were also on that soundtrack so i guess they were on top of raps elite too huh?? redman didnt even go plat till 98

yall niggas memories are hazy as shit lol

Nigga I know you didn't that was for anyone who thinks RD was a failure becuz it didn't go platinum. What I was getting at was this whole Jay was unknown bullshit when that nigga had a bigger buzz compared to Pac when 2pacalypse Now dropped
actually thats false ... pac was well known when his album dropped ... but either way ... pac didnt even go gold on his first album ... jay had his features and did ... so whats the arguement here?? both albums would have sold about the same amount if jay didnt have the features

and niggas bringing up the beatles, who are suppose to be the greatest rock /pop band of all times and comparing them to pac, shows what level pac is at....

the beatles are forced upon kids, i remember in school they use to make us sing Beatles songs such as Yellow Submarine, real fag white man force fed shit....i'm not fan however, cant deal with white culture being forced upon kids

ptowndonte;1491726 said:

my point is u think they lettin 10 year old kids listen to 10 crack commandments or yellow submarine?

i praise any kid who is listening to Biggy and Pac because they were not force fed the music, they had a choice... similar to how i had a choice to listen to nwa and cube, no white teacher force fed me that or made me sing it in school

I just feel that there was more negative influence with pac around, in the 90's. more gun talk and more killing. There have always been wack rappers - dont u remember silk the shocker?

Pac portrayed a negative stereotype , and I wish that it would die all together instead of the image being used by A & Rs over and over and over agaian.

Pac did not start the gun talk or that image!
That shit was already around, u wanna talk about negative talk, gun talk and killing, go listen to all of Biggie's albums and then tell me if Pac was more negative. That's all Biggie talked about! Pac talked about all aspects with his music but, the media only talked about the negative side.
I can give u a long list of postive songs Pac did, I can't find one that Biggie did, so if u wanna talk about that look at Kool G Rap, he is the one that started the Gangsta rap in New York, NWA started the gangsta rap in The West.
Pac was in Digital Underground before he changed, he changed because of what was happening to him by the police.

all 90's artists u named. So it doesn't really take away from what i said.

Juicy is a positive song by biggie. Of course pac would have more positive songs, as he has more songs in general. But even when trying to be positive, many times pac is talkin about his enemies, or Hennessey.,

Juicy was a lie, he was talking about remember when I use to eat sardines for dinner like he was broke, his own mother said that was a lie.
He always lied on his mother, Biggie was a spoiled kid that was a honor roll student, he choose to be a drug dealer, he didn't have to be one like he claimed.
Whatever man I'm not going to argue with u, u believe what u want to believe.

Smmfgdh @ anyone Having to be a drug deal. Having to sell crack to their own. You know how many men hold down 2-3 jobs, and these lazy ass people can't get one? Gtfoh with that having to be a negative influence on the community bullshit.

Biggie's story may be made up, or exaggerated, as everyone's is. Even pac's.

But Pac wasn't exempt from the Marlboro syndrome.

How was Pac's life exaggerated?
Dude didn't have to lie, his family is in the history books.
He had people that was there that agreed with what Pac said, he had a mother on drugs, he was homeless, he did move alot because his stepdad was being followed by the FBI, his mother went to jail while pregnant with him, he has facts to back up his life.
