Waka made a smart decision to move away from Gucci's bullshit, but foreal, I don't think anybody would have know who he was if it wasn't for Gucci Mane

i knew who waka was before i even new he was associated with gucci..i'm sure being on his label helped some but I don't see it...it's not like waka moved a rack of units nigga got some street hits and makes moves off that

With Gucci, Waka had a best reputation. I think he could have best instrumentals, good collaborations, more contacts and other shits like that...

Lol @ Gucci didn't help his career

Nigga nobody didn't know who you was until Gucci brought you out. I just remember that nigga as that dirty, scrawny, V-neck wearing nigga in the background when OJ pulled up to freestyle for the camera

Waka? What you mean the dusty ass nigga 8 seconds into this video below?

Gucci brought waka to the game, period.... Yea waka blew up on his own musically, but it was still gucci who financed him and even put him in a situation to blow up....

Gucci made Waka, Nicki Minaj, French Montana and Yo gotti.... He put all them motherfuckers on, and probably a few I'm forgetting... They should all be signed to his label.

No...

Waka trippin. You gained so much bein linked to Gucci like you cant be serious. nigga you Gucci Mane son.

I forgot this the same dumb nigga that said "he'll go to college for Geometry"

What do you feel about voting? "Voting is good, voting is good"

Flocks just talking out the side of his neck right now. If I remember correctly, Gucci put Oh Let's Do It at the end of one of his mixtapes and that's where the hype for that song came from. Before that everytime you seen Flocka he was posted in the back with Bambino Gold and Wooh Da Kid looking like Gucci and OJ's dusty ass servant

I see folks in here are trying to rewrite history again.

"Oh Lets Do It" came out when Gucci Mane was locked up. Before that song nobody knew who the fuck Waka was. There were no promotional guest features. There was no "Flacka got an album coming soon".

He was signed to Gucci's label but lets be real here. Gucci rode off of Flacka's hype when he first got out of jail.

Niggaz bringing up that OJ video. None of you niggaz knew who that was until Flacka's album came out. There was no "this is Flacka" on that video or none of that shit.

How you think Oh Let's Do It blew up?? You think DJs just heard the record and started playing it? Nah he got those connections through Gucci and his Mom (Gucci's manager). People fucked w/ him initially on the strength that he was Bricksquad. Ain't like he just started from the bottom built a whole career and then Gucci cosigned him and it was a wrap

If it wasnt for Gucci, I would of thought it was this nigga trying to become a rapper.

How could he get those connections through Gucci when Gucci was in jail when the song came out?

His mom was plugged in the industry before Gucci. My initial post still stands. There were no promotion of Waka from Gucci until after that single came out which was while Gucci was locked up.

Gucci wasn't serving a life sentence you think people in the industry wasn't rockin with him at the time? They probably knew that wacka was a member of Gucci's circle and were prolly more willing to give him an ear than had he been some random nigga with a song

You dont think his mom was pushing that song? I sure as hell never heard of that nigga b4 that single. If Gucci was pushing the single how come he never mentioned the nigga b4 he got locked up? All Gucci was marketing was OJ.

Anybody in here ever heard Gucci mention the name Waka Flacka b4 he went to jail?

On a mixtape, an interview? Anything?

So you honestly believe gucci had NOTHING to do with Waka's success? Like Waka coulda signed with Grand Hustle or CTE and had the same level of success ? Gucci mane was behind bringing out Nikki Minaj, French Montana, and OJ da Juiceman like other poster had said (don't know about Yo Gotti)..flocka was no different

@ Numbaz, you my peoples but you gotta know Waka wouldn't have ever made it without Gucci. Being us as Southerners, he got on because of affiliation thru Bricksquad.
