SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -
Two men have been identified as suspects in a shootout outside a Shreveport sandwich shop this past weekend in which eight people were wounded, police said Tuesday afternoon.
Police identified the wanted men as Antonio Rhines 20, and Treveon Wilson, 19, both of Shreveport. Other people are believed to have been involved in the shooting, which happened outside a sandwich shop and gas station in the 3500 block of Hearne Avenue.
The shootout involved two groups who had been loitering outside the businesses. A 19-year-old man was found lying in the parking lot when police arrived and seven other people, including a 16-year-old girl, had been taken to the hospital in private cars. Police said the wounds ranged from minor to potentially life-threatening.
Authorities have not said what sparked the shootout.
Police said Rhines was arrested in August 2012 in connection with an incident in which multiple shots were fired outside a crowded gas station in the 3700 block of Hearse Avenue. A female was shot in the back in that incident.
Rhines is currently wanted on charges of illegal use of a weapon and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, with bond set at $200,000. Wilson, of the 1500 block of Harvard Avenue in Shreveport, also faces a charge of illegal use of a weapon.
