What r u talking about? Im saying its easy to play as in Ur just running after the ball while staying in ur formations... There's not alot of strategy in Soccer After u learn to pass Theres nothing mentally demanding... Plus the US cant dribble and Ronaldo never passes and he never tries to attempt to steal the ball.... I played Soccer Football and Basketball and ur lying when U act like their are a multitude of plays in Soccer.... Most of it is luck and your God given abilities hell I think Goalie is one of the most difficult positions to play in all sports yet there isnt much strategy to the position .... Soccer is a sport that if u are physically fit and can run U can play....

bruh...seriously...stop b4 its turns really bad for you...

are you joking ?...im actually not sure if your jokin or being serious...

the main part of football is the tactical/mental side..the way the coach prepares the team, in terms of formation n tactics...thats why in most leagues any team cna beat any team., n every player has to be dispclined and play according to the role they have been giving...then theres the physical n technical aspects, football (soccer) is the most demanding sport in the world, from all aspects...n its the greatest...

u clearyt have no idea what the hell ur talking about, ur debating this with people who have been watching and playhig the sport their whole life...

they were lucky when englands goal keeper dropped the ball in the net for them

LOL This is true because without this clusterfuck ... they wouldn't have got as far as they did, but I think team USA played a lot better than they were expected to probably because most of them train in Euro premier leagues, part of it might be so many black 1st nation american / immigrant players feeling empowerment on African soil (because those payers are what has strengthened team USA, they sucked before) ... whatever ... they did better than expected. I don't think they can even fuck with top football teams though, but as a team they are getting better and better over the years. There was a time when there was joke that the US even had a football team. Their goal keeping has been great, defense has been great and that has actually saved their weakness in this world cup.

You can all guess who I am rooting for though, I wanted an African team to take the cup in Africa for record breaking purposes, but if not my team better take it. They have the record for the most world cups in history and as a country even possess the ORIGINAL statue of the greek goddess Nike world cup.

They were taking it easy in the beginning because they do not take the US serious as a football team, especially not on their level. That is the bigger teams downfall ... see they play a weaker team and fall back partially out of arrogance, partially because you don't want to injure yourself playing lesser teams then have difficulty playing top teams. Rudiments of athletics. Problem that can cause weaker teams to score on you when they shouldn't.

USA stepped their game up over the years but consider why and also realize they are not yet on certain levels. One time USA went up against England as nobodies and won by a stretch shocking the football world and creating momentum for change as a football team. Many of their players are 1st generation American players which means a lot ... they are getting a better roster of people and now have a ton of players playing internationally learning the tools of real football. Only game they can possibly have over the top teams is if they master the game of psyching out the other team ... that is the only way I see USA getting past this level.

The Confederate Cup last year? If so, yeah, they were in the Finals last year.

y r u only talking about offense altidore couldn't tap the ball in the goal when he wasn't patient and didn't think and he couldve tapped in a couple of goals. Ppl in soccer don't think US couldve scored alot more goals if they wouldve paid more attention and wouldve been patient and actually thought

On Altidor has a lot of bad first touches. A more skilled striker would have finished on at least one of those opportunities. The US had good windows they just didn't have the skill to finish.

They will. The best American players play abroad. The better teams will learn from this also. They will learn to never fuck off in a match just because the opposing team is not on your skill/game level, in any match it's anyone's game.

I find it funny how the US 1)assumed they were a better team than Ghana. Or 2)assumed that they would just waltz into the semi finals. US soccer will never get anywhere till we realize what the reality is. The reality is that we are not an elite power. We are not a great team. We are on the same level as teams like Ghana, Mexico, and other small countries. Everyone was talking about how favoralbe the draw was for the US but the reality was the draw was favorable for EVERYONE in that bracket. Do you really think Ghana was scared to play the US? Do you really think Uraguay would have been intimidated by the US when they had to play teams like Argentina and Brazil to qualify? Please the US isn't scaring anyone in soccer. Ghana was probably looking at the US like wow we can definitely beat them and if we win a tough match in the quaterfinals we are in the semis and who knows what can happen from there. People were acting like this group was gift wrapped for the US. Sorry but the US isn't good enough to over look ANY team. The shaky group play should have told us that. I mean weren't they saying stupid stuff about how "if we can't beat Algeria we don't deserve to be here" really US? You are so good that you laugh at teams like Algeria? Please it took them a last second goal to win. And yet they still went into the Ghana game arrogant and cocky. The US needs to realize where they are and try to move forward. The false illusions of grandure are silly. They were just hyping this team like they really had a chance so that people would watch them. The reality is outside of Donovan and Dempsey none of the other players are elite level players. Well Ogusi is but he was hurt and I think they really missed him against Ghana. When healthy the US has Donovan, Dempsey, Onyewu, and Howard. Those are the elite players than can play at the highest level. Players like Bradley and Altidor are good but just not there yet and still need to develop. Altidor had some golden opportunities that when he learns to control the ball better will be opportunities that he buries into the net. The future looks good but lets not get ahead of ourselves. The US has yet to prove that they are good enough that they can look over teams like Ghana, Algeria, and other "smaller" countries. Cause the reality even though those countries are smaller they probably have more high level soccer players in them than the US.

"if we can't beat Algeria we don't deserve to be in the world cup" - Landon Donovan.

I can't remember who but they were talking about how they were going to make a deep run this world cup. It wasn't just media but the players didn't not respect their opponents at all. The US is in no position to make statements like Donovan's because everyone else in the world says "if we can't beat the US we don't deserve to be here." Also Alexi Lawless needs to realize the US is no world power. He talks about the US like we are an elite team. We have 4 high level players there are teams in this world cup with players on the bench who will not play a single second at this world cup and they are better than any player we have. Brazil's unders 21 team could probably beat our national team. We need to realize where we are and try to improve. These high expectations while good don't set realistic expectations for the fans. People are upset like the US actually had a chance to win the world cup or was one of the teams in the mix. We were not. Even if we got by Ghana we were not going to beat Uruguay. The skill level of the US is improving but we just aren't there yet.

Team USA will improve over time they in many sports aren't take seriously internationally but tend to come up over time because one thing the US DOES have is funding and the ability to seal shit and make it their own in some way. I don't htink that team USA will ever be a superior team but as time goes on they will get better, improve and be taken more seriously as competitors.

What's all this "we" business BTW? Team US isn't my team at all. LOL Just letting you know. LOL

It was styling. Defense was weak, goalie is far out like he wanna be a striker. Argentina has a stronger team over all. They have one of the best footballers around right now Messi, and a legend Maradona for a coach. They're show boating.

I get the confidence but Ghana was a good team a team many people thought were better than the US I would even say most people outside the US thought Ghana was better. They just won the under 21 or 23 world cup and have like 6 or 7 players from that team on their world cup team. But still people were looking ahead passed Ghana like it was a foregone conclusion. That is my issue. Its one thing to be confident but the US is no position to over look anyone even Algeria. This is not just the players but the media especially. Alexi Lawless was talking as if the US were Brazil.
