Did anybody listen to this?

Ultramagnetic MCs are an acquired taste. Their first album, Critical Beatdown had banging beats! The lyrics, or rather the vocals, are unlike anything else I've ever heard. Actually, they're kinda like De La Soul or A Tribe Called Quest's early stuff, really abstract. But the difference is Ultramagnetic had these really hard beats with 808 thump and sharp kicks and snares.

Their DJ, Moe Love isn't the smoothest DJ, but he gets the job done. Anyway, their first few singles were classics. Then they released an album (Critical Beatdown) that The Source rated 5 mics. They followed up with more albums but Critical Beatdown is the best.

If you like abstract rap, but you don't like the hippie sound of De La Soul then Ultramagnetic MCs is for you.

I listened, it sounded like a bunch of white kids attempting to freestyle for the first time

Not sure how one would call it an abstract style but i hate that type of rapping, its a whole bunch of nothing....then i double checked that they were doing this basic shit in 89 i was really disappointed, sounded more like early 80's garbage

It was aite, wasnt feeling that offbeat style they was using on here like that

Then when Tim Dog came with the "simplistic, imperialistic, idealistic" flow i had to cut it off Lol
