This thread seems to have touched a nerve with people.....let me add my two cents in now.....

Just because someone listens to someone like Young Jeezy or 50 Cent doesn't necessarily mean that the person is dumb or only enjoys the rough aspects of hip-hop. I go to Hunter College, which is on one of the most expensive zipcodes on the planet, yet I bump some Jeezy or 50 here and there. I have friends who are accountants and doctors who bump gangsta (or crack lol) rap, and their probably smarter than the average nigga. For the most part, most people will listen to cocaine or crack rap because we see where the artists are coming from. I would sell crack too if I couldn't find a job and my parents were so poor we're gona go homeless. 50 gets love around the world cuz there are millions of people all around the world who are two paychecks away from selling crack rock or pills......these are not easy days to make money, some people have it worst than others. With that being said....

I blame the crackheads themselves for destroying certain areas of the ghetto. If a bitch has 5 kids and is smoking crack 5 times a day, it's her godamn fault for being so irresponsible. 2pac's own MOTHER was a crackhead and even he rolled with drug dealers.....why? CUZ HE UNDERSTOOD WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM. Jeezy might make selling crack more glamorous than it really is, but hey, what do we expect? He's made great money hustling, right or wrong, people are drawn to success. I listen to conscious music too, I have no problem bumping Nas here and there.....wait a min.....doesn't Nas understand where drug dealers come from too? HMMM.....makes sense when you think about it. Nas is a storyteller, so he has to see where all sides of the equation are coming from. I do too.....

People who act gangsta just because they bump TI or Jeezy are clowns, straight up. There are a lot of clowns out there, and some probably in this thread, but I don't blame G-Unit for creating so many IRRESPONSIBLE and SELFISH crack fiends out there. You know who I blame? THE CRACK FIENDS.

Im convinced that N.W.A was elevated to neutralize Public Enemy.

Without the cooning of Flav I dont know if MTV and other outlets would have given P.E. a platform they would have been too Black too Strong, Flav might have been a necessary tool to slip past the censors...I dont know.

Flav was basically a hype man, so I dont know how much he has hurt the legacy of P.E. but thank God we still got Griff.
