i appreciate that tyler perry gives black people opportunities but his movies are garbage for the most part except the why did i get married series.

Real talk here! The truth is that most of the TP haters don't understand his reasoning for the movies. He gets 'em in to the movie with foolishness, then hits 'em with spirituality and grown people shit that smart stupid people miss. That's right. Smart stupid people. Spike Lee is smart, yet he says some of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

So let me get this straight. You're basically saying that Tyler Perry's audience will only go for grown people shit in their movies if there is a buffoon front and center. Call me crazy but that's a bigger insult to TP's audience than anything Spike said.

And why do people act like TP tackles tough issues. You'd have to be an idiot to go to a TP movie and feel like anything of substance was presented. Here is a breakdown of every TP movie.

There is an unrealistically good person (usually a female).

This person is going through some hardships, that are usually undeveloped and unexplained

The person also has to deal with an unrealistically bad person (usually a male)

Over the course of the movie the good person meets a new person, either a buffoon or a captain save'em type character

Hijinx ensue

There is a church scene, usually very random and very pointless

Everything magically works out for the best. The good person succeeds. The bad person is thwarted.

What does that teach anyone? Shit does not work like that in real life. If you think a storyline like that is fitting for grown ups, you might as well go watch cinderella or sleeping beauty or some other fairy tale. Real life people are never as simple and one dimensional as TP makes them. Real life situations are never as cut and dry as TP makes them. Real life solutions to real life problems involve work. They don't just fall out of the sky.

If ya'll like movies where you can just turn off your brain and go laugh at dumb comedy. That's fine. Tyler's movies fill that role well, and that's cool. But please stop acting like they are deep and make some kind of mindblowing point.
