thats excatly the point one hit wonders span across genres. Yes flo rida and pitbull have found a hip pop niche (but more pop). But even those chart toppers cant sell. But its the same thing with hip hop. Ace hood flopped but had hustle hard. And as long as tyga has been in the game he has not accomplished shit. Even this album depended heavily on beats and guest rappers to flop.Tyga does not have any solo power he always needs a hook or another relevant artist. Wack city is the only song by himself that even got notice.

Yeah co-sign, maybe if he had like 2 or 3 big singles he would've sold better. I dont know though I still think there's a disconnect between Tyga's image & mainstream. Like with Nicki & Drake it's perfect, they work - Abstract Barbie Doll, The crooner who is trying to balance a relationship with the downfalls of fame (cringes) - that shit connects with an audience. But with Tyga, what the fuck is that shit ? Nigga has red hair & walks around with egyptian insignia what the hell does it mean tho ? There's no connection, just doing 70-80k alone should be an accomplishment especially off that weak ass song.

Don't underestimate modern listeners bruh. Niggas dont give a shit about a concept, narrative or substance...it helps mind you, but if that were the case Lil Wayne would have never blown up...that nigga talks about and stands for absolutely nothing. Which is why people feel Tyga...He's a weak lyrcist who makes catchy club and whip happy tracks and thats all people want to know about him and care about him for....They don't even have to come up with weak ass arguments to support his placing among the greats like they have to do for Wayne.

Tyga doing 80k is great for him just really becoming a popular name among the consumers. His Tutankhamen snapbacks are pretty fresh too but I can't imagine being seen wearing one tho.....
