I completely agree with the bolded. 2pac wins any popularity contest because he's still immensely popular but there are a few MCs I'd put over him. in this instance however I am a fan of 2pacalypse Now & Strictly 4 My Niggaz, I don't care for All Eyez on Me or Makaveli but him discography (while alive) is very solid.

I can't rock with Jay's lack of consistent artistic growth. Vol. 2 & 3 sound like they were recorded at the same time. Dynasty was mush, BP2 was equally pungent but he's got some great albums under his belt too.

No way on Earth anyone walks away thinking Pac had the better 16. Whether he was a better rapper than cats like David Banner or some shit isn't relevant. We don't put a dude like Banner in GOAT conversations, so you have to compare him to the upper echelon of MCs...especially if you believe he's the GOAT.

2Pac did was he does very well (like Common) but I've never heard a 2pac verse that got me hype or made me think "That nigga dope as fuck". Jay has those bars, Nas has those bars, Kane has those bars, its not a knock on 2pac because he still put together great albums. The nigga aint perfect B.

and i will state that i absolutely believe pac is a top 5 rapper. i just believe pac had other strong points that put him at the top. i dont think there has ever been a more charismatic rapper, a more emotional rapper, who at times touched on ever emotion...for what he lacked technically he brought plenty of other things to the table. i also think he is one of the most confused rappers ever. his story is great and sad at the same damn time...definitely a hip hop icon. i just think when comparing him to others u gotta be careful. niggas voting just to vote with no justification just so u can get a c/s or a goat. fuck outta here...this is a discussion board lets have serious discussions
