Most people in the military are not mentally fit though. There are a lot of racists and psychos in the military. Agreeing to go to a foreign country to fight in a war is not normal IMO anyway.

Anyone with any sense would realise murder as a business requires a degree of psychopathy. I would much rather believe people sign up to serve their country and protect their nation's interests than just get paid for blowing people's brains out like a mercenary. That seems a lot colder to me than "I want my family to be proud I served my country" weighed against "I get to shoot foreigners for money 10 months of the year."

I look at it as the motivation

I dont understand this "patriot" mentality to go be a soldier boy pawn for "the nations interests" knowing how corrupt and they are.

Maybe me having native blood and learning about the US army & govt genocides and broken promises to the original people of America helped shape that outlook on the Military for me.

As recently as a few months ago the military was called onto native land spraying them with water hoses in below freezing tempatures and blocking off roads to hospitals.

We've been paying for presidential trips since forever. I don't care who's in office, if they need some time to de-stress I'm with it. Had no problem when Obama, or Bush, or Clinton did it.
