he wants out, no doubt, but its not like the panthers owe him a trade. if they can get something decent for him then sure they'd trade him in a minute, but they don't have to take a bad deal. the main problem is they have no leverage b/c smith has already voiced his displeasure and requested a trade.

They don't owe it to him. But I think out of loyalty for what he's done, the Panthers said they'd grant him a trade if he wanted it. I don't think they're gonna get ripped off for him. But his value may not have been that high anyway. Look at the caliber of receivers that have been traded lately, and what they went for (Boldin, Marshall, Holmes). Smith is older than them and has personality issues like them.

oh i know that they will be lucky to get a 3rd rounder for smith. but i'm saying that they will try respect his request but that respect only goes so far. but i just dont see how they'd let him walk for a 5th or 6th round pick. he's more valuable to the team than that, the panthers know that, and I think smith will understand that

They can actually get that for him if it's a contending team that feels they're just a extra piece away.

When's his contract up though? Better off getting sumthin for him now (even if you lump him and Williams/Stewart and get a more elite player) in a trade, than nothing for him when his contract expires.

i think he's got two more years left. not sure about the money, but i'd rather have him and 32, 33 years old than to get a couple late draft picks who may never play in the NFL. i like the idea of having him be there for Cam for 2 years more than i dislike the option of getting nothing for him in a couple years. b/c depending on what they get, they could be trading him for essentially nothing now. maybe some cap space but we are like 400 million under the cap anyway

I'd rather trade him and one of your RB's for a young talented receiver. Just bein real it's time to prepare for the future. The present is too late to save. Ya'll got a couple years til ur good. With or without Smith. And ya'll suck at draftin WR's so go ahead and trade for one that's already proven.

For the 49ers..

Cullen Jenkins - DE

Brandon Mebane - DT

Malcolm Floyd - WR

Jonathan Joseph - CB (Clements take a pay cut and consider playing Safety or Nickle)

Gonna need some OLB's to emerge.. Lawson is great in coverage but for some reason didn't get to the QB.

he's an olb in a 3-4. all we should be caring about is his sack numbers. Him and Parys are the worst pair in the league. Neither guy had more than 5 sacks. That's just not gonna cut it. I think Manny would do well in a 4-3. He's not built for a 3-4. Both need to go.

Im saying though they drafted Aldon to get to the QB, team him with Manny Lawson who actually made plays in the run game and has shown that he can drop back and cover. Hes an asset to the team regardless of his sack numbers. I would like to see Aldon,Bowman, Willis and Lawson be kept in tact they could become a force especially if Aldon is the pass rusher he was drafted to be. Im saying why keep a bum like haralson who Ive seen teams go at consistently in the run game. I just dont see the logic in keeping haralson on the roster Im pretty sure it wont affect the salary cap that bad especially if were letting Aubrayo Franklin go already it makes more since to me to keep a good run defender like Lawson on the roster. Use the money you save on clements cause hes either taking a pay cut or dude is getting cut to resign lawson that would make more sense to me. Jonathan Joseph and Sydney rice would be nice but not very realistic.

I think Steve Smith already has his mind set on leaving. At this point he just wants to be part of a winning team. He came out and said he doesn't wanna b the #1 receiver/go to guy anymore. That's not what someone would say if they also wanted to be the veteran leader on a rebuilding offense. Wouldn't be surprised if he was traded to SD

I hope not... He's the best WR in Carolina history..S/O to Mushin tho...

Straigth up, DeAngelo Williams, we need a change of pace from Ryan Grant. Brandon JAckson aint gonna cut it, and im not sold on James Starks, that would out our offense over the top. IF not i think we could go defensively and go with a MLB. We are set at other position...IF Burnett dosent take a step back since he only started a few games before he was injured.

Deangelo staying, that's one down...now Steve smith needs to relax, and we need to trade Goodson and sign Sidney Rice...give Cam a target to throw to!!!!

16. Josh Wilson, CB, Ravens. Baltimore stole the speedster from Seattle in a trade last offseason, and he turned out to be an ace nickel back. Wilson (5-9, 192) is undersized but is fast and skilled in coverage and should get a look as a starter.

Damn, yall fuck with Josh Wilson? He used to STAY getting burnt on D. The Ravens pass coverage is average at best but people tend to overlook that because of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and the ability of the D to stop the run.

Good signing by the Giants David Baas played great at center for the niners last year and can also be a starting Guard kinda sucks that the niner front office didnt make resigning him a priority. fuckin idiots.
