doesn't have to be about a specific fear to acknowledge when rights are being infringed on. if i see 1st or 4th amendment rights being violated, i can object in principle, without it affecting me directly or having to think of some apocalyptic scenario. why is this any different?

that's all well and good, but then why are we saying people don't want to, or act to, ban guns, take guns away, etc. we haven't see people push for the same kinds of laws federally? hell, we didn't HAVE an AWB on the books recently? or have states that have them in effect right now?
