Cool. A lot of songs out now I like. Just like its always been. I dont go by the internet nonsense just like most people. Its just entertaining to laugh at the hatin and frustration. I like what i like like 99.9% of people and dont care about what i dont like. Plenty of popular rappers makin tight songs too. Good time for music but it always been to me. Back to the 70s and earlier.

We can go on for days about which era in rap was better. To me its more deeper. Our culture and technology is completely different than what it was during the Golden age of rap. Rap was still finding itself and wasnt completely embraced by mainstream. So this made artist push boundaries in creativity. Once it became a lucrative business then the influx of "hustler rappers" came swarming in. What I mean by that is those who see rap as a hustle, not necessarily as art to master and make a good living. Lot of people missed Jay-z point when he incorporated his hustle skills onto the mic and in the game. He's one of those rare rappers that was a true hustler as well as artist. If you look at the artist who stood the test of time and are still relevant in the game, they are all skilled on the mic and love the craft.

Its a golden age of r and b you mean ..all these rappers sing or got singers on the hooks.lol..soft body shit but yeah it's better than its been since the very early two thousands.

WTF..

There's too many mixtapes IMO...niggas need to stop dropping tapes if they have a cd coming out that year.like drop one whenever you ain't dropping a record to keep your fans wet.

That's for new cats or people with no music coming out soon.

Yeah that faggot wear shit needs to go somewhere..the baggy shit was ridiculous but this faggot girls clothes shit man, cmon.

I'd rather hear party rap than gangsta rap tho.i never understood people that wanna take it back to projects and dreads and box utters shit..

Thank god big took us out that era.

Nothing will be better than the late 80s/early 90s ENTERTAINMENT period.

As for mainstream hip hop, its more about the production than the lyrics itself. The boom bap era will never appeal to these stupid kids today.

the market is saturated if you ask me there's too many rappers

This.... You can start rapping and get on in a year. People clown Jay Puff and people like Jermaine Dupri but at least they paid dues. These cats now can start rapping at 25 and get on by their 27th birthday and shit thanks to social media.

i agree with the thread poster.

NY hiphop right now is doing straight NY dope boy swag, hardcore killa music. we have crews like the mafia,BSB,Tanboys and the ASAP mob supplying this genre.

L.A is back thanks to TDE and compton game.

ATL keeps killing it with trap music thanks to gucci, waka, scooter, rocko and future makes dope fuckin music with swag

Stopped reading after that shit... Hip hop is getting better , but chill out with all that golden era shit... Look in the reason awards thread, mfs was leaving mad slots open cuz they couldnt even think of a top 5 ¨fill in the blank¨.

he's right though, the genre has developed into much more than it used to be and with the internet everyone can put a mixtape out there. It leads to a lot more choice as far as artist selection goes,.
