In most bibles revelation 17:5 is capitalized it reads "The Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and the abominations of the earth. " Think about that for a second. did a young nation like america give birth to all the abominations on earth? there were harlots and abominations before us. spiritually consider what god thinks makes one a harlot. A wife has eyes for one man and is faithful to him only; on the other hand a harlot is not faithful, but has many lovers, or is not faithful to the one she should be faithful unto. GOD is the ONE to be faithful unto. saying you love god but then worshiping anything else other than god make you a harlot in god's eyes. Mystery babylon is the mother of that. This MYSTERY BABYLON THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS has come down from the Old Testament throughout history and has grown into all the world and has become great. Multitudes, tongues, peoples, and nations have been deceived by her. It is a world wide spirit a deceiving system it is what has made man
worship idols, images….greed, power, fame… things made out of man’s hands, gold, silver,it has been the origin and driving force behind the worlds suffering. In short mystery babylon is the lure of materialism, Not one nation.
you think the master of the universe is concerned with the political existence of one nation? no . Ephesians 6:12 tells us " For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." The whore of Babylon is evil capitalism, the devil rule, a whore is used by everyone this world is run by capitalism all nations use it. The city of New Jerusalem is from Jesus Christ who rules for those who except and obey HIS WORD of LIFE and will go to heaven with HIM.
1. America is known as "the melting pot" of the world. American history began with immigrants and slaves from Africa, bringing their own cultures and traditions to a new country. No other place in the world has such a diverse population. This is a statement of fact, not opinion. Thus, God describes the destruction of Babylon as such:
"A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed."
Jeremiah 50:37
America is a land full of "mingled people". Can the same be said about Russia? China? India? Japan? Etc. No. Over 90%+ of the population of America is not native. America is a melting pot of all the countries of the world. Which brings me to my 2nd point.
2. America is the mother of all harlots and abominations of the earth because every tribe, kindred, tongue, nation, and people group is represented in her. Every god, idol, religion, philosophy, witchcraft, sorcery, and abominable thing is practiced in this country. America is the land of the free. Nothing is off limits as far as worship, idolatry, religion, and sorcery is concerned. America is the fountain head of all wickedness. This is exactly what the prophet Zechariah stated in his prophecy concerning Babylon:
"5Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to me, “Look up and see what this is that is appearing.”
6I asked, “What is it?”
He replied, “It is a measuring basket.” And he added, “This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land.”
7Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman! 8He said, “This is wickedness,” and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed the lead cover down over its mouth.
9Then I looked up—and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings! They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.
10“Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking to me.
11He replied, “To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When it is ready, the basket will be set there upon her own base." Zechariah 5:5-11
The woman in Zechariah is the same woman that is seen in Revelation 17 riding the scarlet colored beast. The woman makes the whole world drunk with the wine of her fornication because she is filled with wickedness. But how is this possible? Well just look at how America influences the whole world. All the major media outlets that reach the whole world are based in America. Hollywood is the biggest film producer of the world. The San Fernando valley is the base of the biggest porn companies in the world. The internet, which has connected the whole world was started in America. The 2 biggest financial markets are located in America (NYSE and NASDAQ). etc. That is just the tip of the ice-berg though. No other country on planet earth influences the world like America does. This isn't opinion, this is fact.
1. America rules over the world because of her military power:
"How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!" Jeremiah 50:23
2. her consumerism:
"For all the nations have drunk from the wine of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her. The world's businesses have become rich from her luxurious excesses." Revelation 18:3
3. Her great voice:
"For the LORD is going to devastate Babylon; He will silence her mighty voice." Jeremiah 51:55
There is so much more though. Reading all the prophecies that speak about Babylon and having the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth, will only lead to the conclusion that Babylon the Great is the United States of America. Amen.
