it seems to me that there are a lot of pop music fans masquerading as hip hop fans.

though for the record, i think jay z overdid the biggie lines, but damn that man at least wrote his lyrics. come to think of it, if this falseness does escalate in hip hop, a lot of us may even go back and appreciate artists that we didnt really fuck with because at least they respected the art.

What I´ve understood from this thread (granted i ain´t read all of it), Drake doesn´t have a ghostwriter, but someone that shows him how he should ´FLOW´ over a certain beat...that is not the same thing as having a ghostwriter which explains 40 defending his pen game, and the fact that he has written countless of other hits for others...

People really think they can change the rules of Hip Hop. This is why I can't get with rap now a days. People that don't even rep the culture or understand it trying to set rules. This is why we don't consider Puffy, Dr. Dre or even KanYe "GOAT" emcees cause we know they have writers. Drake has been running around for 5 years bragging about how he's better than everyone else, that it's "Drake featuring Drake", "I got everyone on safety" "I got all the #1 singles", Blah, blah. And Mainstream Media is right there to prop him up.

Does this change that some songs or albums were good or hot? No but it does change him bragging about being some type of lyricist. Then he had the nerve to say "Nothing comes through New York anymore". Which is exactly why he got ETHERED IN NEW YORK, lol, Krama. I'm glad Flexed aired him out. I wouldn't even be shocked that Drake probably has a team of writers and based on the reference tape they do his flow as well.

I'm sorry but He's not a true spitter, never was. He's a pop artist/rapper. Had the nerve to go at real emcee like Common and all the people trying to say he got Common when he proabaly didn't even write that verse. The mask is off. Drake is arrogant and feeling himself which is why he got his card pulled. The Reference Tape tells the tale. Again if you like Drake, cool. But trying to prop him up as some lyricist is over.
