yo, another thing. people who dont seem to care that they listen to fraudulent music, you really think you will hold that opinion for ever? dont think that you get maybe 5, ten, twenty years down the line and then regret the fact that you supported music with little or no integrity, that you were potentially wasting your time on nonsense and stifling actual creativity at the same time, effectively attempting to kill the little value hip hop actually holds now?

its a dangerous game youre playing here, emphasis on the word playing

and look i dont mean to go all sage and serious, but what you see as just entertainment and enjoyment now may mean more to you down somewhere the line.

Thank you! My biggest issue with these girly niggas who say "so"

Jay catch hell just for quoting Biggie lines throught the years but a nigga taking verses and niggas literally don't care...you don't care about the genre, the culture, the message it send

i hate to be this guy i really do but aint u the nigga caping for chief keef and troy ass, u got no room bruh.

@KamPushMe and @Jabu_Rule I hope both you gentlemen flagged @BritishGentleman last post because it was him who posted it and not because of the content of Lupe's message. That shit is spot on and should be met with absolutely no type of resistance or questioning.

no problem, and yeah i cant stand this vague wishy washy attitude either. where the fuck are the principles, passion, pride?

it seems to me that there are a lot of pop music fans masquerading as hip hop fans.

though for the record, i think jay z overdid the biggie lines, but damn that man at least wrote his lyrics. come to think of it, if this falseness does escalate in hip hop, a lot of us may even go back and appreciate artists that we didnt really fuck with because at least they respected the art.

just a thought, idk im feeling all sage and otherworldly and prophetic today. maybe im ill.

What I´ve understood from this thread (granted i ain´t read all of it), Drake doesn´t have a ghostwriter, but someone that shows him how he should ´FLOW´ over a certain beat...that is not the same thing as having a ghostwriter which explains 40 defending his pen game, and the fact that he has written countless of other hits for others...

have you saw the reference track?

I dont know the reference track could have been after Drake wrote the lyrics, then QM did the flow for him.

People really think they can change the rules of Hip Hop. This is why I can't get with rap now a days. People that don't even rep the culture or understand it trying to set rules. This is why we don't consider Puffy, Dr. Dre or even KanYe "GOAT" emcees cause we know they have writers. Drake has been running around for 5 years bragging about how he's better than everyone else, that it's "Drake featuring Drake", "I got everyone on safety" "I got all the #1 singles", Blah, blah. And Mainstream Media is right there to prop him up.

Does this change that some songs or albums were good or hot? No but it does change him bragging about being some type of lyricist. Then he had the nerve to say "Nothing comes through New York anymore". Which is exactly why he got ETHERED IN NEW YORK, lol, Krama. I'm glad Flexed aired him out. I wouldn't even be shocked that Drake probably has a team of writers and based on the reference tape they do his flow as well.

I'm sorry but He's not a true spitter, never was. He's a pop artist/rapper. Had the nerve to go at real emcee like Common and all the people trying to say he got Common when he proabaly didn't even write that verse. The mask is off. Drake is arrogant and feeling himself which is why he got his card pulled. The Reference Tape tells the tale. Again if you like Drake, cool. But trying to prop him up as some lyricist is over.

great post, really hits the nail on the head.

Drake claims to be the best rapper, but didn't write his raps. There is nothing else to discuss.

Nigga u know damn well Ghostwriters didn't write every Drake verse ever heard

Also Drake could of wrote his verse and the Ghostwriter could of gave him the flow

Either way there's no hard proof

Yall make drake fans look and wtf . . Everybody right this puts an asterisk for drake as an Emcee no matter what even if he wrote for others. It should matter yeah he writes most of his shit but until it's proven that drake still wrote the verse and qM just showed him how to flow. Then yeah hat asterisk always gonna be there for me. Ima still fuck with his music cuz he he good to me but it will always be a side eye
