energy can neither be created nor destroyed only change form.

Perhaps the simple law of thermodynamics explains the soul more accurately?

We are energy beings, we are electrical beings, when our physical bodies die our energy has to

go somewhere, it afterall cannot die or cease to be.

Just my thoughts on it.

This!

"Your body is just a vehicle transporting your soul."

this....close thread

and at the end of the day. either you believe there's a "soul" or you don't...

Exactly, we don't know everything, and if you think for a second, you would realize we don't know anything.

The question is how do you feel? Do you feel like you have a soul?

Don't wait for a scientist because their knowledge in the subject may be even less than yours. Scientists assume things until they they gain more knowledge. That's why they have theories and not facts.

"Soul," like "god," is one of the most arbitrary words in the English language. I've come to view "soul" as being synonymous with the ego or the self, with the self being a continuously developing construct of the brain. I believe that when the brain dies, the self or soul dies with it.

Regarding this exchange about scientific evidence for an immaterial, transcendent soul, it is impossible. The sciences deal in the realm of the physical/natural, so asking them to verify something of supposedly supernatural/metaphysical origin cannot be done by definition. That said, much like a god, I see no reason to believe in a transcendent soul. I guess it gives one a greater sense of personal value or purpose, but that's nothing more than wishful thinking in my opinion.

what they believe in.... cuz most of yall assume the dont belive when im pretty sure alot do...

If you're asking if there are religious scientist, yes there are.

There are even "scientist" who think evolution is false.

The law of conservation of energy* (not thermodynamics) was a good analogy, but that's if you think the "soul" is an atomic element. Who knows?

All I know is that sensations and simulations that make us have feelings and thoughts are processes of the brain. The brain is very intricate.

His point was that the only way to potentially uncover knowledge is to eliminate all pretenses to it (I.E. the Socratic Method).

Threads like these are soul draining...

Okay it's understood you don't believe in anything spiritual, ethereal or supernatural...we get it.
