Your opinion.....

Stay Wide Awake was the best song on that album. Don't agree? Then you don't know much about the different degrees of mastery of lyricism that some rappers (ahem MC's) have.

Stay Wide Awake was the stand out track for me off of Relapse. I thought it was one of the best songs in 09', lyrically. He went in on that track.

I cosign this thread and what Kingblaze said....

I think Recovery is a classic and solidified eminem as a legend in hiphop. Its the best album since American Gangster.

To each his own, but I really really dig this album. Shadys flow is addicting (no homo)

Eminem is at his best when he's doing shock content. Also, Recovery sounds like a mixtape (Yeah I know, I lost for giving it a listen, but hey everyone was saying it was actually good). There's not one good song on that album, so to me Relapse > Recovery because of that one song, Beautiful (which is his best work since he came back).

P.S. Stop the propoganda. Eminem is hyped because he's a white guy who got a black cosign. Eminem is nowhere near the best rapper. He's not even the best white rapper.

Brother Ali > Eminem

R.A Rugged Man > Eminem

Vinnie Paz > Eminem

Aesop Rock > Eminem

Recovery is such a let down, Relapse is a lot better. You guys gotta be kidding me praising those pop beats and hooks and emo rhymes as actual hot rapping.

i didnt like recovery for many reasons. yeah he went hard on most of the verses, but why was he singing on half the album? it sounded like his version of a drake cd or a marshall r&b album.

the production was pretty wack in my opinion. just blaze can do much better then what he gave to em, and em didnt sound right on those drake beats either.

my biggest problem with recovery was its lyrical content though. he may have been going in, but i just cant listen to a guy preach about his sober living non stop. its boring to me, and i cant relate to it. sure i cant relate to songs like kim either, but atleast he was more entertaining before.

i went on a burn cruise with this kid who does mad drugs, and he wanted to spark the blunt while blasting not affraid. it was akward and embarassing.

Because Eminem will definitley make more Album's in future i think from now on he will only make an Album with deep Song's which actually is the majority of his catalouge

Even on his Album's like THe Slim Shady LP you had Song's like If I Had, Rock Bottom, 97 Bonnie & Clyde & Role Model

The Slim Shady alter ego was for those who like that kind of thing but it wasn't meant to last really

Look at Relapse that Album was bringing The Slim Shady alter ego back but Beautiful was the best Song

i think marshall needs his slim shady alter ego to be great. recovery was all marshall and no shady, and it was boring and preachy. relapse was 99% shady, and it was too out there for most people. his best album, the mmlp, was the perfect blend of shady and marshall, and you could really see his talent there.

im not saying he needs to go back to getting white boy wasted everyday, but he needs to find the balance between between marshall and shady again.

Eminem has been Singing since The Slim Shady LP and on The Eminem Show & Encore he was Singing just as much as on Recovery as far as Hook's but on The Eminem Show he was Singing completley on a Song too

Eminem was one of the first Rap Artists to do Singing on Hook's specially for a whole Album like he did on The Eminem Show

He sang on "As The World Turns" and it was in a parodical manner. Other than that there wasn't any singing on SSLP. He also didn't sing on Relapse, which was his last really good hardcore rap album. Fuck all that singing bullshit, this ain't the backstreet boys.
