My idea would be for everybody (who is willing to participate) can list 5-10 albums before a set deadline then we'll add up the numbers and rank them accordingly, then maybe Sion can post it on the front page as AHH's top __ albums of 2015. Just my suggestion.

Im cool with that, but like I said last page, we should do that for different categories (mvp/feature of the year/verse of the year,etc) and every day during the last week of the year we cover a different category on the front page.

With all these bogus ass list being made by other sites , I think when we post these on the front page we should stress "voted on by the people" and maybe something like "join here to vote" while we're in the voting process.

How many days should each poll last?

I think the best system will be for everybody to post their top 5 in order and

1st place = 5 points

2nd place = 4 points

3rd place = 3 points

4th place = 2 points

5th place = 1 point

Then at the end we tally all the votes, and whoever has the most points comes in 1st , 2nd in 2nd, etc.

It's more work, but it'll be the most accurate for ranking the top 5. Polls wont do it cuz it'll just be people choosing their number 1 and not top 5.

And plus with the polls there's gonna be albums left off, so we gonna have to hear a whole bunch of "why ___ didnt make the poll" , fuck all that lol

That's pretty much the same thing, but without a point system. It should just be 5 albums, we're only posting the top 5, so we might as well weed out the others.

I agree with the categories, I don't know about the point system though.

Why not? I think it works well. That's how I did it a few years ago. If people are posting a certain number of albums for the sake posting a certain number of albums, there should at least be a ranking system so that the order actually means something.

Look at it this way.. if you think there was only one 5/5 album this year, two 4/5 albums, and a handful of 3.5s... you don't want the 3.5s in your list to hold the same amount of weight as the 5/5. If it's the math that's a problem, I'll def help with averaging the scores.

Also the dates need to be more organized. Specific date for voting deadlines and specific dates for when the results are posted. Kind of loses anticipation if people have no clue when things are happening.
