also ive lost music time and time on my ipod, that shit is prone to crashes, den u gotta do a reboot and put all the songs back, shits annoying

there is no real alternative to cd's, i mean if an album is wack den i will download, cuz i cud give a fuck less if i lose it, but i always cop whatever i feel is dope,

You must have a shitty iPod huh?
If your iPod crash's it doesn't delete anything. It just reboots...
CD's and CD players are just as unreliable. CD's can get scratches and can break. And CD Players are not as portable and can break....

You have a point there. But the reason why it even cost money to make music in the first place is because of record labels and the industry......
Music should not be a industry. Producers, Director's, Album cover makers ect.. should not pay artist's for all that shit, Music should valentaraly made......

it costs money because the "EQUIPMENT" used to record, mix and master, and press these albums costs money....

if u cop a mpc 2500, for $900, u plug that shit into ur socket, u also paying for electricity everytime u use it....now imagine how much these "big studios" cost to run?

mixing one song can take 8 hrs to 3 days to mix, u expect these engineers to sit there and do this for free?,

music biz is a full time job, like every other industry

Yeah but rappers nowadays take rapping as a job....
They should work like the rest of us, AKA have regular jobs so that they could pay for producing tracks, equipment ect......

my shit crashed, i had to do a clean wipe, this has happened with every model of the ipod i have brought over the last 8 years

i hate ipods, they do look good however and the sound quality is always louder than ur conventional mp3 player

cd's do get scratched, but they look good in ur collection so u can show ur future seeds, i guess some of us niggas is from a different era.....

Since JaytotheZ is new, i'm gonna admit that i don't know who you're talking about.

And for what it's worth, i actually own Reasonable Doubt.

Taken from an older thread^^^

Rd is a great album, but i still don't think it's a classic. Imo his only true classic is BP. RD had more lyrics from Jay that were better lyrically, but it barely made a splash in 96's climate, not to mention it wasn't even the best album of 96.

Lol @ the bolded, people never heard of mixtapes? who would want a rapper to not get paid? rapping is a job as well.

How is the album overrated??

Whether its better than say Muddy Waters or Soul on Ice is an opinion and has nothing to do with if RD is good or classic. You basically made a thread about your favorite albums from '96 and singled one album out to say it wasnt shit.

IMO Reasonable Doubt is one of the best "hustling/trapping" genre albums to come out. Better than Cuban Linx cuz its more realistic and relate-able and better than IWW cuz it's based on real life and facts. '96 was one of the greatest years for rap. There was so much diversity in the mainstream and underground that you could choose any acclaimed album and say it was the best depending on what your criteria is.
