nigga how u gonna call an album a classic and not OWN A COPY lmao

thats a insult to Jayz work

I'm tired of niggas who say so and so album is a classic and ride the coattails and dont own a copy, that goes for nas, pac and biggy fans...if u dont own a copy den it shudnt be in ur top 5

the fact that RD has sold so little and then u have niggas claiming its a classic and dont own a copy is laughable
I have Rd on Cd, and Illmatic on tape, cd, and wax

do u own a copy?

Of course.

Not digital download either.

I'm talking actual cd, playing it in my blue sony anti skip cd player. Having to buy another copy after someone borrowed it and gave it back looking like a scratching post.

Dude, its entertainment. You don't have to be a gangster to be listening to songs like "Vato" or "Thug Life" huh? Then why wouldn't you be able to listen to songs about money when you're broke? Its just Entertainment...

Anyway like i said. The closest store that sells Hiphop and Rap is 6-7km. I'm not travelling that far for a album that i have already listened to and have.....

thats ur excuse fair enough

other niggas excuse was he borrowed it

is there at LEAST ONE nigga on here who owns a copy, minus USMARIN? lol

Because i am believe that music should not cost money in the first place, its fucking art......
But do you seriously think that Jay-Z cares about losing 7$? lol.....

thats nonsense

the artist has to pay for beats, studio time, mixing, mastering, graphics, pressing copies, videos.....and u want them to give music away for free in the name of "art" ?

ofcourse jay cares about losing $7, he has bills to pay like everyone else....if he lets one nigga get away with $7, den he might as well let everyone get away with $7, until he ends up being broke.....its the principle

for all the time ad effort an artist puts in to entertain you, he or she shud be at least compensated, small price to pay for a life time of good music

You don't have to own the actual hard copy or know the words in order to appreciate the work.

All that means when you memorize the verses is that you memorized the verses!! How many of us know a song we don't like only because they play the shit out of it everywhere you go??

If you came from the generation where you bought the actual cd every tuesday. Or the generation where you downloaded your shit illegally off napster and limewire. Or from this generation who has no idea what it means to record a song off the radio on to a tape, making it a "real mixtape". But instead buying it off itunes. If you appreciate the music, that's proof enough for me.

OVERRATED or not, Reasonable Doubt is still Jay's best album to date and his only classic....

I appreciate its greatness....even though it did follow the whole "mafioso" blueprint, it still was executed well. One of the dopest albums released in '96....

the mentality of fans of music sucks

"music should be free",

"oh he's rich i aint buying it"

the hip hop industry wud collapse with that kind of logic, u'll end up listening to albums recorded over a radio shack mic, and a nigga beatboxing a beat, with the song mastered on cool edit 2.0

Why I still cop cds...part of it also stems from not having the time to buy an ipod and taking the time to take the music from the CD's and putting them on it... maybe one day.

You have a point there. But the reason why it even cost money to make music in the first place is because of record labels and the industry......
Music should not be a industry. Producers, Director's, Album cover makers ect.. should not pay artist's for all that shit, Music should valentaraly made......

word

also ive lost music time and time on my ipod, that shit is prone to crashes, den u gotta do a reboot and put all the songs back, shits annoying

there is no real alternative to cd's, i mean if an album is wack den i will download, cuz i cud give a fuck less if i lose it, but i always cop whatever i feel is dope,
