The beats on this cd are on point. The drums, the high hats, the percussion's speak directly to a nigga. I'm glad the production sounds like it does instead of a bunch of lex luger and justice league beats. Them shits drown him out. I expected Wale to have more girlie tracks than your normal cat so that didn't really throw me off. Illest Bitch Alive should have just been a instrumental. That and slight work are just bad tracks. I fucks with everything else. This nigga be saying some slick ass shit. His metaphor's and word play are great. However his metaphor's and wordplay are the things holding this album back from being better than it was. He just fell into the trap of just rapping to be rapping too much. The album is missing those one or two tracks with direction and more substance based subject matter. I don't need any concept tracks and shit but Wale has better abilities to make songs about something. But I guess he did that on AD and shit go overlooked. Now he's more in the line of rapping to be rapping and he's getting more love. Tough spot to be in And this shit is whip approved. Just wish he had a little more food for thought.

i give this a 3.5/5

that's the only reason why i didn't rate this higher than a four. wale usually shines best when he does this. there's nothing wrong wiit bragadacious raps, but damn balance that shit out some lol.

yea that's what he's missing that proper balance. I think it's what we are stuck with going forward as far as mainstream releases from a lot of dudes. it just kills me when you get that on a mixtape but not on the album but we should all understand the pressures that execs put on these dudes.

The chick/r and b songs took away from the albums to me. You can definitely tell Wale was going for radio play with this album, which he didn't need to do on a obvious level because he has a fanbase and they are definitely checking for him. This album has a lot of Big Sean like moments to me (too commercial).

With that said, the production is pretty dope and Ambition (song) is pure fire. Wale is still nice with the wordplay, still a versatile artist, etc.

PS i'm glad Bad Girls Club didn't make it, i hated that song

Gave it a couple of days to marinate, i give it a 3.5/5.
